4.0 out of 5 stars Should have asked a GI, January 17, 2012

This review is from: Camp Seven Last Stop (Paperback)
There are details about the U.S. Army that Kirst did not know. An officer, for example, did not have a choice between black shoes or brown shoes. Right after the war, they were all brown. The choice was between combat boots and dress shoes.
A sentry would not stand with his hands at his waist; he would be at port arms. The sentry would not be in a steel helmet; he would be in a helmet liner.
