This review is from: Campagnolo Veloce-US 2/3x10sp Ergopower set, F/R (Misc.)
When you consider that these came with campy cables and housings, which are normally costly, they seems like a good bargain. Although that could be a downside when you consider that you have to replace the cables every year. I am using them in a rather unconventional setup. I have them on a six speed shimano 600 equipped bike, except I replaced the rear derailleur with an old Dura Ace RD-7402 I got on ebay. The RD-7402 has limited capacity, but I read somewhere that if you are careful about chain length and b-screw tension, it will work beyond it's capacity. This seems to be the case, as it shifts fine over a 14x28 freewheel. The unconventional pull of the old dura ace deraileur (or new dura ace derailleur with alternate cable routing), combined with 10sp ergo levers will shift a six speed shimano block. It will work with a double or a triple, but I have only tried it on my double. Anyway, I got these at a great price from an Amazon Marketplace seller and am very happy with the setup. You definitely want the Ultra Shift ones if you're going the ShimErgo route.
Build quality seems solid. They are not rebuildable like chorus or record, but then again neither is Sora, which is all you could get from Shimano in this price range. |
