Good coverage of the laws, as they were,

If you are running a campaign in the 1990s this book is for you. It offers a great treatment of the laws, but still is a little bit dated. If you are now conducting research into the evolution of campaign finance laws, well then this book would be a great one for you. If, however, you are looking at what you should avoiding doing while running a campaign get another book, or hire a campaign finance lawyer. All in all, a treatment that could not be surpassed at the time it was published, but now is a historical footnote.
