The Campbell Hausfeld Wallpaper Removal Kit proved to be a real time-saver for my wife and I as we removed paper that had been on the walls over 13 years in one afternoon. Some, but not all of the paper came off in large whole pieces.

Here are a few tips that I can offer when using this system:

First, the instructions say that you should score the wallpaper in a tic-tat-toe fashion using the supplied scoring tool. The tool felt clunky and cumbersome, so I used a round shaped scoring tool that I already had and just moved it in a circular pattern. I felt I got better results doing this and I wasn't as prone to scoring the wall underneath the paper.

Second, use a nice clean wallpaint roller to smooth out the Wallwik sheets as you apply them to the wall. This helps to create a good point of contact between the wallpaper and the Wallwik sheet. Once I started doing did this, I got much better results when it came time to try to remove the paper.

The builder didn't use sizing on the walls before puttig up wall papaer. This took it down no problem. There were 1 or 2 pesky sheets that required a little more time and mist but they came down as well. You may want to invest in a manual spray bottle as the power one included with this kit doesn't hold the charge as long as needed.

Did a lot of research before purchasing this kit. Will add a few comments ...

This wallpaper removal system (Walwic) is indeed excellent to use on wallboard, which can be damaged by other wallpaper removal approaches. This particular kit's power sprayer is extremely useful and definitely makes the process easier on your hands (the Walwic kit has a manual sprayer).

It is helpful to use a new clean paint roller dipped in the removal fluid to give the fabric a final coat of fluid.

Consider ordering an extra bottle of fluid if you have a large room, because it will be cheaper in the long run if it turns out you need a bit more. Ordering extra fabric would be useful only if a second person is going to work on separate area.

Finally, definitely look for video reviews on using a Walwic kit. They proved very helpful.

All in all, great kit!

This product worked as advertised. I have removed wallpaper in the past by scraping and using steam removal equipment. This product made the job much easier, cheaper and quicker. My only suggestion would be to put together a package without the power sprayer. I didn't realize the sprayer had to be charged before usage and rather than wait the few hours for that to happen, I used a spray bottle which worked just fine.
