My Solution to Canned Air,
By

This review is from: Campbell Hausfeld FP209599AV 2-Gallon Mini Twin-Stack Air Compressor with 1 1/4-Inch 2-in-1 Brad Nailer / Stapler Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I was tired of throwing money away on canned air so I bought this Campbell Hausfeld 2 Gallon Mini Twin-Stack Air Compressor. A lot of people thought I was nuts, but then let's do the math....a can of air nowadays costs roughly $6 and I go through at least one a week times that by 52 weeks and you have $312. So in about five months time this compressor will have paid for itself.
The included nail/stapler gun does an excellent job. Just keep in mind that the gun which comes with this compressor is a simple brad nailer fit for doing jobs such as hanging thin sheets of paneling. The step up from that would be a finish nailer, which you would use that for nailing molding. The step above that would be a framing nailer and those are usually 3 ¼-inch nails for framing. For the finish and framing nailer you would need a much larger compressor to operate efficiently. This compressor is best suited for small jobs. For instance, it excelled at inflating my dad's car tires and my brother's bike tires (set at 60 PSI) and the compressor only kicked on once or twice. However, when using it to blow air (set at 85 PSI) it only lasts about thirty seconds or so, then I have to wait about five minutes for it to fill back up. This does not bother me for like I said one can of air is about $6 and so waiting for five minutes for the tank to refill with free air is no biggie. Something else to keep in mind if you're thinking of purchasing this compressor is to make sure you buy some extra fittings (and a roll of Teflon tape for wrapping the threads). The compressor comes with a few extras, but they're nothing to get excited about. For instance with the included inflation nozzle I added a 1/4" male coupler connector and a quick connector on one end of the hose so I can snap it on and off easily. You will also need to buy a blow gun (Campbell Hausfeld MP520010AV 25-Piece Accessory Kit with Case) and it's a good idea to have a moisture filter to prevent water in the line (Campbell Hausfeld G6261 Water Filter). I bought a CH filter and installed it on the air outlet on the tank (using a 3/8" x 3/8" male coupling) and then hooked my hose to the other end. You can use quick couplings to make life easier for yourself, that way you can interchange hoses and tools in a snap. All in all I am very happy with this purchase. The compressor runs smoothly. It's good looking. And it's not very loud. What more can you ask?

AFter reading some of the reviews I was a little nervous about buying this, but we just finished hanging trim throughout our entire house and never a problem, hitch or glitch. I am very pleased with this tool!

Used the air compressor to install hardwood flooring and worked great. The Brad nailer seems to leak air a little otherwise works fine.

Shoots 21 brads in a single charge,

Before deciding to buy this compressor I compared it to the dewalt one.
I purchased it from Lowes for $59.95, It is very good for installing trim but not baseboard, I used it along with my cordless finish nailer for installing Chair Rail, Casing, Crown Molding and Baseboard. In a single charge it shoots 21 brads and it takes exactly 1 minute to refill. Good for the price and for what I needed it: Portability Don't even try using a finish nailer it will only shoot 10 nails. Hope this info will help anyone thinking of getting one.

For the money, this is the best 2Gal. compressor you can get. It's well built and powerful.

i bought this gun and compressor to do some wood floors, it worked great, the gun shoots nails and staples, the gun itself is small and lightweight, which makes it easy to handle and, the tank is also small and lighweight, which lends itself to moving it around.
all around i was able to put down wood floors nail the 1/4 round mouldings. the only thing i want to change on it is the hose, its a coiled hose will makes it a little rigid and cuts down on the distance from the compressor. i tried to hook up an air spade to it but the tank is too small, stick to what its made to do, running the air gun. good item for small jobs.

This thing is VERY loud if you're using it indoors and it takes FOREVER for the initial fill. The hose is cheap and the nailer/stapler jammed three times during the first use. I had to remove the faceplate to clear the last nail jam. On the plus side it is very light and portable. This will eventually compress two gallons of air and drive small nails and staples much of the time. It may also give you hearing damage. Since I didn't want the nailer and the noise was painful, back it went. I'm going to try another small unit from a different manufacturer.

Hard to beat for the money... Usually when a product is substantially less than the competition, the quality of the product is inferior. In this instance, that is not the case.

I primarily bought the kit for the compressor and to have a spare nailer. The compressor works great. It actually is built a lot better than I had anticipated. The nailer feels kinda cheap but in the case my main nailer breaks, it will work.

This is not a good quality compressor. I expect more from CH. The air feeder lines from piston are car fuel lines and not air hoses. The two feeder hosed rub against each other (due to poor design) because of vibration and will wear a hole in each other. I have had this compressor for 1 year and 2 months, used it 5 times and now the hoses have worn through and air leaks out. What a piece of crap. I spent 3 hours fixing this, cutting away crappy fittings, reinstalling air hose and clamping off. Do not buy this.
