5.0 out of 5 stars Very Tasty
I wasn't sure what to expect but this is really good soup. Butter or margarine was floating on the top when I
opened it and there were six small oysters in the can. With some milk or cream added, it tastes as good as homemade and much less hassle. Get the oyster crackers ready!

3.0 out of 5 stars Damaged in Shipment
The quality of this product is always excellent (Campbell's). The condition of this product was as follows. 10 of the 12 cans were bent in shipment, 6 severely. 1 can had opened, leaking it's contents on all of the others. Good thing it was not summertime!
I did not return this slimy mess because I had looked too hard and waited too long for some oyster stew (I still...

I add fresh shucked oysters, extra butter, 'Old Bay Spice' & 1/2+1/2, with a loaf of crusty french bread.

Can't find this at any market, used to have it as a kid.

I recommend this for anyone who likes oysters.

I purchased 24 cans of this Oyster Stew for my Mom. At 84 years old she lives alone and I live 800 miles away. My sister lives nearby her and does a great job of keeping me informed as to how Mom is doing. Mom does not eat properly. She has always loved Oyster Stew but on a limited budget she refuses to buy it saying it is too expensive, so we are always trying to come up with ways to get her to not just eat but to also eat better. She was thrilled to receive the Oyster Stew. This is one Campbell's product that has remained tasty and rich ,a product I feel comfortable sending to my Mom. She is really enjoying it . I then purchased case for myself, as I have always loved Oyster Stew, my husband does not like it. I used to make my own, but this is easier and more economical.

This is really pretty good for a canned soup. It's not loaded with oysters by any means, but the flavor is there, and that's really what you are looking for in oyster soups.

Considering that you can't find this in every store, it's definitely worth the money if you are an oyster fan.

Until perhaps two years ago, Campbell's Oyster Stew was available in some of the local supermarkets. I was a loyal customer as I LOVE oyster stew. Sometimes I make it myself but the Campbell's canned variety is every bit as good as my homemade recipe. Anyway, for the last two years I've rationed the meagre supply I had accumulated from my purchases at the supermarket but, about six months ago I used the last one. So sad. I no longer could find it at the supermarkets. When I looked on-line, I was able to find it but the price was exhorbitant so I had to do without.

That is, until a few weeks ago when I tried my on-line search again and 'lo and behold, I discovered it available through Amazon! Yaaaaaaay! I lost no time in ordering and, when it arrived, I immediately opened, heated and ate a whole can! SOOOOOOOoooooo yummy. If you like oyster stew, this is the greatest way to have just a little bit without cooking up a whole pot and eating nothing but oyster stew for a week.

Buy it! You can't go wrong -- unless perhaps you are on a salt free diet or don't like salt in your food. My wife thinks it's a bit too salty. But I surely do not agree.

Great product! We had been unable to find this product in the store and were pleasantly surprised to find it at Amazon.com. The taste and quality are superior.

Imagine my wife's delight when I presented this to her on Christmas! Seriously, all of our local grocery stores had quit carrying it, so I decided to check Amazon, where I have previously found hard-to-get grocery items. This is not something I personally care to eat, but my wife enjoys it and that's good enough for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Salt Bomb, February 8, 2012
This review is from: Campbell's Condensed Oyster Stew, 10.5-Ounce Units (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
Sure it tastes good. Lots of flavor here indeed, so if you are tired of living go for it. It has over 1800 mg./serving (1 cup)of sodium.

But..strokes and heart failures are not pleasant ways to go out, so perhaps you should consider a different exit door. And if you want to live, well, processed foods ain't it. And this is the worse kind. If you still eat it knowing this, please, enjoy it. Savor every bite. After all it could well be your last.

Look! I just channeled Bill Mahrer.

Great product! Can't find it in Colo. Sprgs. though so had to buy it at Amazon. Thanks goodness for Amazon! Add a cup of cream instead of milk, a can of oysters, a squeeze of lemon, some dill and pepper and everyone will think it's homemade. Really, really good!!
