5.0 out of 5 stars If you like clam chowder, this will satisfy
It's not gourmet stuff, but this is good clam chowder. A minute in the microwave, and out pops a good, quick meal. Add a grilled cheese sandwich, and you have a working man's ambrosia.

3.0 out of 5 stars Edible brut gritty
The clam chowder actually tastes pretty decent, but it seems to have very small pieces of clam shells or something that gives it a gritty texture. I don't know what it is, but I just can't stand it when I bite into something that feels like glass crunching in my teeth.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, August 23, 2009

I like the convenience of the packaging. No dishes to wash either. It has a decent amount of tiny clam pieces too. Tastes good, but I have a few comments. First, it takes longer than 90 seconds to microwave it. I usually nuke it for 30 seconds, stir it, then nuke it for another 90 seconds. It's the same with other Campbell's microwavable products like the Firehouse Chili. I agree with the other reviewer that it's gritty. Maybe some sand got in the shell of the clams or it has some small shell fragments? It also has a funny smell after microwaving it. I think the funny smell comes from the outer plastic packaging and not the soup. The soup tastes just fine, but needs some Tabasco or a little spicing up.

1.0 out of 5 stars Campbell's Sand and Chowder, December 9, 2011
This review is from: Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder, 15.25-Ounce Microwavable Containers (Pack of 8) (Grocery)
This soup has a lot of sand in it. I could not choke it down when I tried it last week. It is a quick meal, but it's no fun eating soup'n sand chowder. They need to improve on their Quality Control or discontinue the product all together. Avoid this stuff.

Taste is ok - good for a quick lunch. However if you are prone to heartburn - this brings it on quickly and swiftly! Better off sticking to chicken noodle if you have issues there...

I have been buyin the case of these every 2 weeks for the last year. Taste is good, just add pepper.
Only had one time that the case I received was bad and Amazon quickly sent me a replacement case and I also contacted Campbells's about it and they acted very nicely and sent me some discount coupons for my troubles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheaper at Winco or Walmart, December 31, 2011
This review is from: Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder, 15.25-Ounce Microwavable Containers (Pack of 8) (Grocery)
Good clam chowder for out of a can. Quick and easy to heat for the office. Amazon's price is way too high as I can buy this product at Winco or Walmart in Portland, OR for $1.62 per container, ($12.96 for pack of 8). Amazon normally has good prices but with Campbell soup they struck out. Sorry Amazon. (It will be interesting to see if they publish this review)
