I fell for the hype. Don't get me wrong, the unit is of good quality but in retrospect I don't think it is $200 better than the Little Red Campfire. After reading all the reviews I was under the impression that this fire would not hiss when the propane is turned up. In fact it hisses loudly on any setting higher than low. THe glass beads that are sent with the fire are very small and stick to the burn element. I went to the hardware store and bought a bag of volcanic rocks ($6) that look much better. The log set is pretty cheesey and the color comes off if you try to clean the black soot that is deposited on them during use. There really isn't much to the system so if I purchase another portable camp fire I will most likely try a less expensive unit.

This is a must have for all you campers that are tired of finding space and hauling all the wood. I originally had another propane fire pit and the flame was way too low for me. This one looks and feels like an actual fire. My advice is to spend the extra money and get something you know you will enjoy.

More than any piece of camping gear I have this one gets the most questions. I have a wife who gets migraines and a daughter with asthma, campfire smoke is not good for either of them. They have no problem with the CIAC. This can also be used in most places that have burn bans. If they let you use a stove they should let you use this. In Michigan we are prohibited from transporting firewood because of the spread of the emerald ash borer. Many campgrounds are taking advantage of this to sock it to you when it comes to buying firewood. The ability to control the temperature so that you can bump it up to cook some hot dogs and then down because it is to hot to sit around a campfire when all you really want is a bit of ambiance from it is great. I really like my CIAC.

The product was delivered quickly and it is very well made. There was a minor problem with a latch so I called customer service on a Friday evening expecting to leave a message. To my surprise the call was forwarded to a cell phone and someone answered. It was the owner of the company and he was immediately engaged with how to resolve the problem in a way that was most convenient for me and guaranteed that the parts would be sent out first thing Monday morning. The product is working great as it is and the problem is inconsequential but he treated it like his highest priority.

I was not aware that this level of customer service still existed and this company has a customer for life.

I have only used it once in 37 deg weather, everybody liked it and it puts out a lot of heat. The flames look cool and very realistic. I think this beats dragging five boxes of firewood along. And I can use it at home on the deck

I cant imagine camping without a camp fire and when we wanted to camp in Northern AZ during fire restrictions I decided to give it a try. I was very hesitant because of the price but I am glad I went with this brand. I have experienced propane fires with the cheaper brands and while they work, they are not as impressive as the Campfire in a can.

The Campfire in a can puts out a lot of heat and gives a very nice campfire feel. We have used it for 12 days on two different trips and have come to love it.

With conservative use we were able to get a full 5 days out of a standard bbq grill tank (20lbs) the first trip. Since it was the first trip with it we kept it on medium to low most of the time and high just to try it out in short bursts. We cooked on it at least 3 times the first trip. The grill is not huge but we were able to barely get 4 Rome brand pie irons on it. We toasted marshmallows and made smores with no issues and grilled hot dogs.

Our most recent trip we used it for 7 days. I would put it on medium during the evenings for and hour or two and then on again in the morning for about an hour also on medium. We cooked on it as well at least 3 nights and I made it 4 days on the first tank and switched tanks for the remaining 3 and I would say we have about half a tank left on the second tank.

I had one issue on the first trip and one of the lid clips broke off. I called the company and talked to the owner on his cell as he was on his way to work. He was extremely helpful and took care of the problem immediately.

I have always been a campfire person and would have never considered a propane fire for my predominate campfire choice but I may rethink my stance on that.

Shipped on schedule, packing material is reusable so the internal parts don't move around. The cover works as a stand to raise up the fire, and looks so nice that I bought the cover to protect it while storing it in our motor home. Looks a little small for a camp fire, but it's size makes it easy to store in campers, trailers, etc. Your propane tank will take up more room :-) Looking to get a hose built to run it off the propane built into the motor home, but the hose that comes with it is long enough to have the propane tank sitting behind everyone. Surprising amount of heat output. Feels great on a chilly night!
