Good hidden object/adventure fusion,

This is an engrossing hidden object/adventure mixture in which some objects found must be used by the player in order to move ahead in the game. The hidden object portions are as good as any I've seen, in that all the objects are large enough to see but hidden well enough to be challenging. There are also mini-games to be played from time to time.
Many HOG games tend to be quite short such that nearly the entire game can be played within a free trial period, but such is not the case with this one. I thought it was a good length. If you need help to figure out what to do next, the game has a very good hint system. Another problem with typical HOGs is that they are often so easy as to be completely boring, but again, that is not the case here. The game kept this middle-aged casual gamer engrossed for long enough to be worth the money. There appears to be a slow progression in HOGs toward adding more "adventure" style puzzles, a very welcome change. A game has to be outstanding to get a 5 vote from me, so I gave it a 4. Other games in this mixed genre include Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst (which is a 5 game), the recent Department 42 (a 4 game), and the Magic Encyclopedia games (a 5 game). If you get stuck, walkthroughs are available online.

I bought this game based on the fact I enjoyed playing the free demo and that the game had gotten good reviews (both on this site and elsewhere). I wasn't disappointed in the beauty of the game nor the scare factor. The scenes are beautifully rendered. It is a spooky, creepy game as well, and there were a few times the game made me jump in my seat. It is also a nice mix of hidden object and puzzle games. However, I did have some minor technical difficulties with the game slowing down and almost freezing at points. And my biggest complaint is that it was incredibly short! There are only three changes in location. The story is not well-developed, due in part to the game's length. If they had added more to the story line and added additional locations it would have been much better.
Overall - fun, but not worth the money unless you can find it for about half what it's listed at on Amazon.

Loved this game. Was super fun but way too short. I finished it in under a couple hours. :(
