Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Southern California has a campground for everyone and every kind of outdoor activity. Listing more than 600 campgrounds, public and private, the book is far more than the average camping guide. It also includes information about hiking trails, fishing spots, water sports, and many other outdoor activities. Richard McMahon is a writer who lives in Kahuku, Hawaii, and spends his summers in an RV in California and Alaska. He has written numerous articles and writes a regular column for the Advertiser, Honolulu's leading newspaper. This is his second FalconGuide.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand and well organized, May 29, 2006
By
This review is from: Camping Southern California (Paperback)
This is a nice basic campground review book. The best thing about it is how the campgrounds are organized and mapped. Looking through the book you will immediatly know where and in which parks/forests/recreation area the camprounds are located, and which other campgrounds are nearby. The desriptions, however, are pretty bare boned. This would be nice to buy this along with a more indepth, descriptive book, like "the best in tent camping, so cal" which I also have and recommend highly.
