Book Description

Little Book of Wisdom Series February 28, 1998
This book was written as a reminder to all campers how special the backcountry is and how better to enjoy and appreciate it yourself. Here are some of the indispensable bits of camp lore and humor you'll find inside: 1.) Wake up every now and then before the sun. 4.) "Minimal impact" means caring. 5.) Make an effort to carry no more than one third of your body weight. 6.) Stay put when lost. 13.) Wax or silicone your equipment zippers if you have difficulty moving them. Do your best to enjoy the outdoors safely. 16.) See if you can follow an animal trail (proceed with caution if the tracks are larger than your own). 56.) Never pack more than you can carry. 66.) Never tell you feel o.k. when really don't. 67.) Remember that every pound on your feet equals five on your back. 104.) Store your water bottles upside down to prevent the lids from "ice locking" in cold temperatures.
