Book Description

October 28, 2009
A chilling graphic novel set on a college campus, this supernatural thriller tells the stories of three students whose lives are intertwined after a mysterious young woman jumps off the school's clock tower. Be ready to be haunted this semester!

Julian, a freshman, becomes obsessed with Darren, a handsome student whom he encounters at only the strangest hours at night. Little does he know, Julian is slowly drawn into a wicked plot of betrayal that will lead him to the other side.

Meet Alice, a young and lonely medical student, who invites Becky, a beautiful and sexually experimental English graduate student, to live with her in a possibly haunted house. As Becky draws Alice out of her shell, Alice suspects that Becky is secretly stealing her identity. But Becky's plot is way beyond Alice s imagination.

Then there is Sarah, a fifth year senior with a loving boyfriend. As she struggles with her eating disorder and explores her psychosis with a campus therapist, her senses become heightened. She starts hearing voices and sees five ghostly women stalking her. These ghostly visions lead her to a violent and unexpected conclusion that reveals much more than a murder.

This review is from: Campus Ghost Story (Paperback)
Campus Ghost Story is fun and freaky. Author Quentin Lee and artist John Hahn tackle the challenges of flashbacks, plot twist and unusual character connections -- and make it work. The tale is a quick read, but take the time to appreciate Hahn's graphic artistry and attractive characters and Lee's twisting script and true-ringing dialogue. They're talented.

The book it tight. No wasted scenes or images. But enough to offer a very fun read the first time through. Now, I'll be off to re-read it, and dissect the story. It would be fun to hear what the authors have to say about their collaboration and the challenge of creating what is essentially a film in paper format.

I'm not a big horror or suspense story fan, and have only browsed the graphic novels section at the bookstore. This is a great intro to the genre. Buy Campus Ghost Story and have fun!
