I have used Camtasia to record PowerPoint presentations while doing live Webinars. When I'm done, I can edit and prepare a recorded version of the Webinar. Software works great and even creates the .html needed to post a finished video file. Great software!

Camtasia is very easy to use. The video / sound editing is very basic. It's sometimes challenging to use. Overall, I would recommend camtasia for creating how-to and demo videos.

I have 20+ years of experience with computer programming, and have had constant difficulties with Camtasia.

There's a lot of it that just doesn't work, and you spend hours or days going back and forth with tech support trying to get it done. When it does work, its simpler than video editors like Sony Vegas, but there are so many bugs with it, it rips your heart out that you wasted $300 on it just to spend hours of your time fixing it.
