Kids learn with every song!,

This review is from: Can a Cherry Pie Wave Goodbye? (Audio CD)
I came across this tape in my school's resource room and my 1st graders love it! Some of the songs are more for kindergarten or even pre-K, but my kids LOVE the title song and have made up their own using rhyming words, which has been great! They also LOVE the Weekly Rap...they literally (eek!) go nuts over it! Kudos to Hap, I will have to check out his others!

I teach a Kinder-Gym class for preschoolers and "Cherry Pie" is the cornerstone of my whole program! We use the parachute for "Put a little color on You", and we use the beanbags for warmup activities with the "Beanbag Alphabet Rag"... Then the fun REALLY begins! The children love the friendly, lively tone of the music, and I enjoy singing and moving along with Hap. Best of all, Many of the songs, once memorized can turn a long wait on an errand into a fun, educational break! This one's a hit with me!

I teach 3 and 4 year olds and they love the song "Weekly Rap". It teaches the days of the week without the kids even knowing it and it gives them exercise. "Can A Cherry Pie Wave Goodbye?" challenges children to think about real and make-believe. This CD incorporates fun with learning and is excellent for preschoolers.

Hap is really a marvalous musician and lyricist. His word play is very fun for the kids and very singable for the adults. I recommend him highly for any children under 5 or 6 but especially for those who are looking stretch from the nursery rhymes and first songs style collections. Simple, yet very powerful learning is going on here . . .my daughter really, really tunes in to this CD . . .I'm sure yours will too. Stand out for my daughter are the Weekly Rap . .she likes it when they go really fast at the end . ..Can a Cherry Pie Wave Goodbye? and the Animal Quizes .. and her latest fav is the Opposites song. My fav is Pocketful of B's . .which I find myself sometime playing when the kids are not in the car! Egads!

My preschooler and I discovered Hap Palmer's music during our local library's storytime where the librarian/storyteller used to play this every week to get the squirms out of preschoolers mid-way through the session. My preschooler was so taken by the track "Let's All Clap Our Hands" that I decided to get the CD for her. There are 17 tracks in all, and they are all awesome learning songs, incorporating colors, numbers, letters, phonics, days of the week, animals, opposites, occupations, and body awareness. The CD comes with a 24 page guidebook which contains objectives [for each song], lyrics, and activities for each song. The tracks all have an infectious beat and are highly engaging, perfect for some physical activities with toddlers-preschoolers, and also for teaching certain themes. Highly recommended!

This is a great CD for both parents and teachers. It incorporates movement with learning, and I have been able to design lots of lessons for school around these songs. I highly suggest adding it to your collection.

Hap's Best,

This is the Hap Palmer album that my children and my wife and I like the best. Palmer has a comfortable but engaging voice that is perfect for young children.
All of the songs are good, but Pocket Full Of B's is simply a standout track. It's catchy as all get out, and both of my kids responded to it at an early age.

My children dance and love this CD. We listen to it in the car and I love it. Hap Palmer CDs were introduced to us at a Music class for my children and he really has cute songs. There is only one song on the entire CD that I don't like (MONDAY MONDAY..)
