Yes, this tv can be connected to a DVD player. Mine is connected to my cable box and the DVD players to the cable box, but you can connect directly to the TV.

I have my computer, a dvd player and surround system hooked to it. You can direct connect a dvd player with an HDMI cable.

I hooked my DVD player up through my surround sound receiver. From the looks of the back of the TV it looks like you could hook your DVD player to it.
