Amazon sends emails to people who contributed reviewing this TV. Other have replied already. I connected via HDMI (a single cable for both sound and video) a Sony 2D Blue Ray, which made this TV a smart TV. Blue Ray players can also play DVDs.

Actually two DVD players can be connected via HDMI ports also there is a DVI port. There is additional component inputs and audio input. Coax audio out and ex-link. Optical audio output to AV also. I have a Blu-Ray player as well as a DVD recorder hooked up and use optical audio to my AV receiver.

I have a Panasonic BluRay player connected through and HDMI cable. The picture is very good. There are also RCA connectors for video and audio, but I haven't tried them.

I think so. This HDTV has 1 set of RCA input jacks and 2 HDMI input jacks, and your DVD player should have one or the other. We have both a Blu-ray player that has HDMI output and a DVD player that has RCA output, though neither is connected to this TV. Based on the output connector types on our players, I would say the answer is "Yes".
