From the Back Cover

I Can Do It! I Can Do It! is a perfect title for this book filled with independent learning activities that every child can use and every teacher can make. The activities are open-ended and children in different stages of learning will succeed as they use them. You will feel excited as you add the materials you made to your classroom and then observe and interact with the children as they manipulate them. -- Liz Wilmes, co-author of The Circle Time Book and Everyday Circle Times.

This book is so well organized! The directions for making learning materials are clear and concise. The reasons for using them are logical and age appropriate. The directions for incorporating them into the environment will help the reader to avoid discouraging pitfalls. It not only tells HOW, but goes on to explain WHY, WHERE and WHEN. -- Dr. Grace Mitchell, author of A Very Practical Guide To Discipline With Young Children and I AM! I CAN! The Daycare Handbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great ideas for preschools to do and learn from., October 20, 2008

I Can Do It! I Can Do It!: 135 Sucessful Independent Learning Activities

As a parent, I loved this book! It gave a lot of ideas. Each activity has a B&W photo so you can quickly get an idea of the activity at a glance. I loved the concept of giving children opportunities to do things themselves and to try things out on their own.

Some of the activities take some setting up like nailing a row of nails on a board, but nothing too fancy. All the activities are non-commercial and require everyday items.

I used this with my daughter who is 20 now and no longer a teenager. The photos still seem current. If you're looking for things for your child or preschool class, this book is a great resource.
