I very much enjoyed playing this game with my 4-year-old son. The fact that all of the small pieces remain inside the game box is quite helpful. My son was very excited to find the different items, but when he or I had no luck, the "wave" came in handy to shake things up a bit (literally). I think that the theme of looking for treasures works perfectly with the spirit of Curious George, and that kids understand immediately that the game is one that George, himself, would enjoy.
My only criticism is that my own son found it difficult not to remove all of the covers to the windows, so it was a struggle to keep the game moving. Could just be my kid, but, once his curiosity was peeked, it was difficult to reign it in. I'm not sure how the creators of the game could alter this detail; maybe by hinging the covers so that, if kids insist on peeking, the pieces don't get lost?

Just as you start to remember where the treasures are, SPLASH, comes the wave and changes everything around! The thing I enjoyed best was watching my 5 year old daughter help my 3 year old son to find things--they played together, rather than against each other. Very cool.

My Mother-in-law bought my 4 year old this game for his birthday. Seeing how he loves Curious George he loves this game too. Recently my 2.5 year old can't get enough of it! We must play it 5 times in a row. we've modified the rules for their attention spans by removing all the "windows" and just showing the item card. whoever spots the item first gets the card, winner has the most cards. It is helping develop their visual discimination, colors and verbal skills. Also my boys are learning good sportsmanship when they don't spot it first. Awesome game. The cards are getting bent, the box corners have been taped and I had to re-glue gun the cover of cardboard. But the "sand"(which is blue and makes it challenging to spot the blue items) is very well contained and hasn't leaked at all in a year. Even the plastic covering is still holding up even when my toddler stands on it!

Oh, My Gosh, does my granddaughter love this game!!,

This game has elements of memory, seek and find and jigsaw puzzles and my granddaughter loves it! She is 3 1/2 and we MUST play this game every day. The great part is that I even rather enjoy it. Because you can shake it up and change the position of all the hidden objects, it is always new and never gets too boring. It is simple, easy to learn how to play but very enjoyable. And, in order to soften the "it's time to put it away" time, she gets to take off all the pieces and look underneath them all at once and shake up the sand and watch the pieces for a minute, which takes the sting out of gametime being over.
This mess-free, finding in the sand game has an ingenious design that I'm surprised no one thought of before. I recommend it highly, it was a little expensive but has been worth every penny. The only negative is, that, if you are a die-hard Curious George fan, he really has nothing to do with this game except for his picture being on the box and the backs of the cards. This did't matter to me or my granddaughter however. My advice is, if you have a preschooler or even young elementary age child, buy this game, I don't think you'll regret it.

This is a fun memory game for children. You pick your card and then spin the wheel that tells you which picture you can choose to look under. As the game goes on it teaches, everyone! to take a quick look when a picture is lifted as you might remember where an item is. The twist is when someone spins and gets the wave picture. The box gets a shackin' back and forth like a wave and changes everything! Have a 4 year old and an eight year old who both had fun with this game.

This game has the joy of dicovery and uses memory skills for strategy. It seems some items are seen more than others, so it makes it more exciting when the elusive dinosaur is spotted, or just the pincher of the crab can be seen. My older kids (8 and 10) who are often asked by my youngest(4) to play her new favorite game, enjoy the strategy of memorizing where everything is and being able to look in the correct space for an item. They also have all kinds of theories on how to guess where items might move when the wave allows us to shake it up.
Our four year old has favorite items to find. At first she wanted to claim special items as hers, before she actually had won them (by discovering their hiding spot.) She declared them off limits to her syblings, saying she was playing by her own rules. Smiles. With time she has learned to accept that someone else may find it before she does. We have also learned that it can be fun to rewrite the rules, and use our own creativity to alter tried and true themes. It is a perfect example that reminds us that play is a very important teacher in our lives.

This game is great for preschoolers! My 2 and 4 year old can play it for hours and surprisingly I don't mind. This game not only entertains but also teaches! I would recommend it to all families with preschoolers who have passion for board games!

My husband and I both love this game. My kids enjoy it too!!
Great idea to keep all the pieces inside the game, there is "sand" that moves around under the board which has pieces that you remove to see what is below them. You are asked to find certain objects and need to remember which area they are in. Just to make it fun you get to shake it up every now and then and "reset" the game which makes it more interesting for older kids playing younger kids. Sometimes my kids just look around for stuff without playing the "game" which is still great. huge bonus is no lost pieces.

This was a fun toy to share with my grandchildren ages 4 and 7. Easy for the 7 year old to play but fun anyway. Helps with memory. I live by the beach so when they play it they will think of me.

I bought this game for my 4 year old son and he absolutely loves it! He askes to play each morning...and again throughout the day. You never know what you are going to find on the "beach" and with each "wave" the game changes....so lots of fun for all. My 8 year old daughter loves to play with us too!
