Can a Guy Get Pregnant? is a very serious collection of off-beat questions and answers that prove truth is indeed stranger–and funnier–than fiction.
Bill and Rich Sones are coauthors of the widely-distributed newspaper column “Strange But True.” Over the past eight years, they’ve gathered together thousands of questions and have diligently tracked down the scientific research that answers them.
Here, with dry wit and rock-solid information, the Sones brothers answer everyday and not-so-everyday questions about the body, love, death, and animals, including:
If you’re starving, can you eat your clothes?
(If you’re wearing the right kind, yes.)
Does a “dog year” really equal seven human years?
(Nope. But there is a better way to estimate.)
What would it be like to die in outer space?
(Hint: It’s bad.)
Do opposites attract?
(Not unless money is involved.)
Will chimps watch X-rated movies?
(Maybe it’s better not to ask…)
Accompanied by illustrations that capture the authors’ unconventional sense of humor, Can a Guy Get Pregnant? will astound and delight both those with a penchant for the bizarre and those who insist on the authority of science.

Really a fun book!,
This review is from: Can a Guy Get Pregnant?: Scientific Answers to Everyday (and Not-So-Everyday) Questions (Hardcover)
This is a really fun book! It answers some questions I've always wanted to ask (but who could I ask?) and a lot more that I never would have thought of asking. I have a particular interest in animals, and this book devotes a whole section to them. (Do dogs really age seven years for each human year?) The book is attractively designed, with many drawings interspersed. I have a busy life, so I'm constantly picking books up and putting them down. This is easy to pick up, read various questions, and save more for tomorrow! It's the kind of book anyone would enjoy.

Seeing The World In New Ways,
This review is from: Can a Guy Get Pregnant?: Scientific Answers to Everyday (and Not-So-Everyday) Questions (Hardcover)
This book is filled with short presentations of the most interesting ideas that I have never considered before. Questioning what can be done in the world and un-thought of possibilities had me turning every page in the quest for new ways of looking at the world.
Truth really is stranger than fiction! This book would be enjoyed by teens to older adults.

By Theresa (Cleveland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Can a Guy Get Pregnant?: Scientific Answers to Everyday (and Not-So-Everyday) Questions (Hardcover)
This book is full of some really fascinating stuff, put together in a format that is fun and easy to read. I found it impossible to stop at just one question; you gotta keep reading!!! Can a body live without a head? Check out the answer(with the bizarre tale of "Miracle Mike") for yourself; you won't be disappointed! Far from dry reading, this book is fun for ages 13 and up(my teenage kids actually READ this book!)and makes a great gift.
