Silly, whimsical stories that are fun to read and easy for her to sound out unknown words. Sentences about 1-2 per page, so they're not intimidating, gives her the confidence to try harder books. We've really liked the Hans Wilhelm books.

Although the "Noodles" books may lack sophistication for older readers the stories are fun to read and listen to. Noodles is a fluffy, loveable dog who has a very pleasant personality wagging his tail through his escapades. He has carried my students and grandchildren with him because he is so willing to please.
The vocabulary in these stories is plausable, and the illustrations lead the beginning reader to deduce new words. Practicing by reading these books to younger children is extremely confidence building to a struggling early reader. The stories hold the interest of both the reader and the listener.
This author can be counted on to keep young children reading.

Got this for my 5 yr old grandaughter - she loves to read so looking forward to her reading it to me soon.
