I think I know why Harris' songs aren't played on the radio--everyone would leave their cars and start dancing! His sound combines pop, rock, rockabilly, swing and a good dollop of good ol' texas country dance music. His voice is like Roy Orbison with, I swear, a shade of Elvis. Some of the best songs on this CD are "Hollywood in Texas" and "She's Cool to Me" (a funny take on being in love with a bad girl). Target sold this CD for $1 in their dollar-store section, but if it's unavailable now, get your friends in Texas or someone else to sell you one.

I have no idea who d b harris is...but his sound is uncanny...shades of roy orbison and chris issac...I got this disc at target stores for $1.00 one of twenty or so I picked up...this one stands out for the songs the singing and production...each song is terrific...my little runaway is sooo coool...overdue...hollywood in texas are all great...fact is I like the whole disc...there is also a touch of dwight yoakum in his voice...no matter this is a good record...get it if you can...after all these influences make for a terrific singer songerwriter's debut...

I was very pleased with this album since it is quite independent yet very listenable and approachable even by those not as much into indie country music. If you enjoy Dwight Yoakam you'll like this one.
