By A Customer
This review is from: Can Pakistan Survive?: The Death of a State (Hardcover)
Tariq Ali's finest work as well as the best book written on Pakistani politics..Ali doesnt attempt to sugarcoat anything..he tells things the way they are. Ali also discloses information and makes comparisons that are very unique.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant dissection of what ails Pakistan, January 12, 2006
Few Pakistani authors seem to have as thorough an understanding of the subcontinental history and its impact as Tariq Ali does. His impartial tone rises above most propaganda or self serving ones that normally emerge out of the authors from this region and this book is no different. The book analyses the problems faced by Pakistan and its fragile democracy and provides any reader with a clear view of what ails this nation. Though somewhat dated, the content clearly promises some interesting stuff and information upto the 80s which is a must read for anyone interested in history and politics from a pakistani perspective.
