A lot of people call me a pessimist but as the last remaining single male wanting to have a flawless, infidelity free, marriage I wanted to know the worst case scenarios of what could go wrong in a marriage and be prepared to deal with it which is why I bought the book. After studying the unbiased cases in the book I must say I am a better person.

It presents real life cases in real life language that real people can understand and in my opinion the average 'relationship' is affected by at least 70% of these challenges.

It may have been titled 'can this relationship be saved?' beacuse the lessons can be applied to all manner of male/female(gay!!) emotional interactions. It's particularly surprising how seemingly doomed marriages make a good turnaround for the better with a little effort from parties involved.

'There is hope', 'real world drama'

It's not a book you'll read cover to cover in a day but you're sure to find youself mirrored in a few of its pages.

For sheer entertainment it's a good read and I highly reccommend it to anyone wanting to make a success of their relationship.

This is a great book for people who relate best to marriage advice when they can picture themselves in the same situations as others. It has great information on how to deal with difficult people, how to change how you react to things, and great examples of how other people have gotten past things. If this reflective type of Self Help Style works for you, then this is a great book for your purposes. I've read the column since I was 13 years old and it really helped me build a functional relationship. Because of it I never settled into OK relationships. Reading the book as a newlywed and then reading it again after 10 years of marriage, has brought new insight into different stages of my marriage and reminded me of things to work on. My husband and I actually read the first few chapters together. It was great.

This is a collection of articles from the magazine called Ladies Home Journal. It is the longest magazine column ever. It is a great resource for personal and professional use. I have read many from the journal over the years. This book compiles years of columns and divides them topically. I have read these columns (chapters) that provide both sides of the marriage from each spouse and a note from the counselor. You learn to observe and identify yourself and others as you read. I have often recommended to couples who are struggling and I have used the same strategy that counselors use to help the couples.
