This is a great book. Michael Eric Dyson has extremely refined analytical skills that go beyond typical classifications to go to the heart of what justice is all about. "Justice does not depend on feeling to do the right thing. It depends on right action and sound thinking about the most helpful route to the best outcome." He is coming from a Christian point of view (which I am not) but there are parts of this book that would have value to a wide audience.

Enjoyed this book immensely. It consists of selctions from the author's previous writings and is both informative and inspiring.

What's inside? Short messages from speeches Mr. Dyson has done? You can be enlighten by some of these messages but my fault I was expecting something different other than the highlight of his speeches. Good resource to use for quoting mainstream events.

I have known Bro. Dyson for many years and have always respected him and his works. He is an excellent lecturer and has full command of anything he speaks about. I recommend "Can You Hear Me Know" to all right thinking people.

This book pick apart the attitudes and character of what people think and feel about what is going on in American. It provides a historic account of the African American culture. Some may be offended how Dr. Dyson's accounts of the African American's viewpoints are regarding race. Dr. Dyson is a highly intelligent lecturer and writer who don't mind sharing his opinions in an eloquent manner. He has an effective fashion how he provides the factual background on arriving to his respective viewpoints. Even if you don't agree with some of Dr. Dyson's positions, it at the very least challenges you to take a second look or think about some of your own true feelings. He has really open my eyes on many areas like the Hip Hop culture. I have always tried to be objective and open-minded but never view hip hop in a positive manner. My views on hip-hop industry prior to reading his book considered the music to be more commercial with little meaning. His book is a step-by-step of Black History and delivered well deserving praise to those figures in Politics, Civil Rights and the Entertainment Industrial some of whom sacrifice greatly to open door for others and well as making this country better. Dr. Dyson is a dynamic in many ways and all of his books tends to bring enlightenment that makes you rethink your position on the subject at hand.
