5.0 out of 5 stars Good Toy
This toy is a little tricky to assemble and getting the concentric rings to all snap before putting on the exterior pieces(handle, trigger , sight etc.)is not that easy . I bought two of these and learned by assembling the first one that the rings really didn`t have to stay snapped and were really held in place by twisting in the screws for the exterior pieces.Once I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Slightly disappointing, less power than the regular Airzooka

We own both a regular Airzooka and this Megazooka. I was surprised to find out that the Megazooka doesn't have any more power than the regular Airzooka: the diaphragm is in the same location and the same size for both toys. The additional size of the Megazooka is to accommodate the trigger mechanism. Incidentally, the trigger mechanism does not pull the diaphragm back all of the way, so the full power of the Megazooka cannot be realized with the trigger. However, the back panel can be removed such that the diaphragm can be pulled back all of the way (but then the trigger no longer works; you pull the diaphragm back manually). Bottom line: if you're looking for raw power, get the regular Airzooka. It's lighter, easier to handle, and packs an equal punch to the Megazooka. If you have small (grade school) kids, the trigger mechanism of the Megazooka makes it easier to handle.

This toy is a little tricky to assemble and getting the concentric rings to all snap before putting on the exterior pieces(handle, trigger , sight etc.)is not that easy . I bought two of these and learned by assembling the first one that the rings really didn`t have to stay snapped and were really held in place by twisting in the screws for the exterior pieces.Once I realized this the second one took five minutes instead of 30 minutes. I do a lot of construction and handyman work and am used to assembly problems and can see how this could be frustrating but I think it was well worth the time. The toy is a BIG HIT with my boys.No ammo needed, no batteries and it is harmless fun.(My wife reviewed this too but I wanted to add assembly tip.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Megazooka - Good Safe Clean Fun, February 12, 2007

This review is from: Airzooka Megazooka -- Blue (Toy)
I have two young boys that LOVE this Toy. It never needs new ammo or batteries. We as parents appreciate this , as well as the fact that if the boys fire at themselves or targets no harm is done.Plastic cups are good targets (or even a leaf on a tree ) .They seem to be pretty sturdy and are a little larger than I imagined from the photos.Assembly demands you follow the directions but instructions are good (if you read them the first time ). There is a pop up plastic sighting device that is really more cosmetic than functional and you must be careful to keep it folded down when you set the toy down or it could easily break off.It is easier(and more accurate) to aim by looking THROUGH the megazooka and sighting your target.GREAT TOY

1.0 out of 5 stars Rings would not fit together properly, January 5, 2007

This looked like a fun toy when I ordered it. Sadly the concentric rings

which compose the body of the item cannot fit together unless they are all

almost precisely circular: any significant warpage at all, even on just one

ring, will ensure that the snug fit necessary to lock the rings tight with

each other without the possibility of slippage during use is impossible.

Given how easily such warpage could occur during manufacture or in transit,

or even while the product sits in the warehouse, caveat emptor applies.

I ordered two of these. Both arrived quickly, but the assembly was EXTREMELY confusing, lengthy, and difficult. It took me about 45 minutes to get the first one together and the parts kept coming apart before the next step could be done. Quite frankly, I don't think it is even possible for a single adult to complete the assembly alone, it took two of us. Furthermore, one of the Megazookas was missing a critical part. Normally, products like this have a quick access number/web site for missing parts. But, this one did not. As a matter of fact, there was not even a mailing address anywhere on the box or the instructions! The only choice was to mail it back for replacement. (The box is HUGE.)

However, the one that could be assembled did work pretty well.

One of the best toys I have ever gotten. It is much more powerful than I expected. Commenting on one of the other reviews which says it is a pain to assemble with two adults and impossible to do with one adult, I do feel that it is a pain to assemble, I am 11 years old (yes, I did break the 13 rule) and did it without help.

Maybe I got one that was not built correctly or was slightly defective, but it took me nearly an hour to build this dang thing. Seriously, it is a real pain to put together! It is fun to play with and shoots a cone or air pretty far across the room. Just be prepared to struggle with it for a while...

3.0 out of 5 stars get the airzooka, not the megazooka, January 6, 2010

I got this for Christmas and I think that it is no better than the regular airzooka. ASSEMBLY:It took the help of my
[very strong] dad and about 10 minutes total. Pulling the rings apart enough that the brackets went in was a very strenuous process. TARGETING:The targeting tube of the megazooka is very accurate but keeps falling off. POWER:It gets a realistic 10%
power boost thanks to stronger elastic. OVERVIEW:I think that unless you have your heart set on a cocking system, get the smaller airzooka. NOTE:The megazooka is too big and heavy for kids under 5.
