Talented singer/composer/guitar player Felix Valera Miranda leads this marvelous cuban typical ensemble which specializes in the performance of the "son oriental" or "son rhythm" Oriente province style. Cuba's legendary "Trio Matamoros" were among the pioneers who developed this style during the 1920's, 30's and 40's and also the equally legendary "Duo Los Compadres" with Lorenzo Hierrezuelo, Francisco"Compay Segundo"Repilado and later Reinaldo "Rey Caney"Hierrezuelo, defined it. The album title "Can~a Quema" is a son composed by "Los Compadres" leader/lead singer & guitar player Lorenzo Hierrezuelo. The Familia Valera Miranda continues that great musical message with great vocals and very skillful arrangements. "Can~a Quema", "Se Quema La Chumbamba","Mi Pan~uelo","Pa Los Pinares","Venga Guano", etc. will lift you from your seat and hastily request your partner or anyone available to dance! Also old time cuban romantic classics like "Pensamiento","Longina", "Las Perlas De Tu Boca","Veinte An~os", etc. are given a traditional, yet fresh sound by this dynamic and talented cuban musical family featuring, mom,dad, the boys and an old family friend.
