Even though it's true the IR remote isn't Windows Media Center compatible, that doesn't mean it's a total piece of junk. You can still receive QAM channels in HD and all your regular cable/satellite ATSC/NTSC broadcasts just fine. Being only coax input, you cannot get true HD broadcasts through your cable/satellite (which frankly confuses me because you can get HD via coax only with QAM, but NTSC you can't? What's the deal?!). The recorder works like a charm and saves the file as either .ts or .mpg for greater editing software compatibility. This is definitely not a 1 star product. For only the price a Grant bill, this is a great deal! Oh yeah, installation is a breeze, too.

Remote does not work, no integration with Windows media center, and very poor user interface. Purchased this for my daughter's computer expecting it would behave like my Diamond Media tuner, but it is not even close. Hauppauge should try moving into the 21st century with the rest of us.
