5.0 out of 5 stars I have conquered cancer... today., November 5, 2002

This review is from: The Cancer Conqueror (Paperback)
This is a tremendous book... and I've read it 30 times. It's easy to read but filled with insights that helped me find a pathway to recovery. I have also purchased over 30 copies of this book for my friends... ALL of whom have been diagnosed with cancer in the last 8 years since my own diagnosis. Surviving cancer is a process... and with good strategies and good medical care people do it all the time. This book is a roadmap of much of that process.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only cancer book I recommend, September 29, 2005
This review is from: The Cancer Conqueror (Paperback)
13 years ago, I wondered through the self-help section of the book store. I looked for a book I could share with my husband who was recently diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. While he was going through a series of painful spinal taps, I read him the book. It changed our lives. It's simple message does not preach or blame. It is a simple call to action that we have followed ever since we opened the book. For many years after I first read the book, my husband would page through it and read the affirmations (important messages) out loud.
Through the years, I have shared that book with others who were recently diagnosed. I keep on having to replace the book and we still try to live each day with meaning and purpose. In part, I attribute his survival to reading this book. It also works great for caregivers and family members. Cancer is a process, a journey and an opportunity to make your life what it needs to be. Get this book and enjoy it, get two books and share one with a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Cancer Conquerer, February 1, 2010

A friend who is a cancer survivor of 10 or 15 years highly recommended this book to me for a family member. The survivor said this is a must read for anyone diagnosed with cancer. It was so helpful to her that she gave the book to those recently diagnosed that she called on as a cncer support contact. I read the entire book before I gave it to my family member and then bought one for myself. It is excellent advice for a positive uplifting way of living. I do believe, however, Greg Anderson has written a new book on the subject.

4.0 out of 5 stars Big help for cancer patients and their caregivers, April 17, 2009
This review is from: The Cancer Conqueror (Hardcover)
This book, written in a very accessible style, had even my cynical husband noting some of its "affirmations." It's a story, but the points of positive thinking and taking charge of your disease are all there, and each important catch phrase is printed on a separate page mid-chapter. He even asked me to type some of them up, because they were very meaningful and helpful. It's a book worth giving to every newly-diagnosed cancer patient.

5.0 out of 5 stars This changed my view of chemo, January 20, 2012
This review is from: The Cancer Conqueror (Paperback)
My wife found this book for me and I let it sit for a couple of years after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. When my Cancer came back and I had to do Chemo it freaked me out. I "discovered" the book on our shelves and opened it up. WOW! It changed my attitude on Chemo, feeling sorry for myself and living! I recommend it for anyone facing Cancer. You will feel hope and strength and find new joy in your treatments and living. I now refer this book to anyone who is facing this challenge! Read ON!

This book was handed to me by a 3 time cancer survivor. I read it every day for weeks after I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Nov. 2007. I claimed the title as my own victory. A book full of practical help, common sense and an overwhelming gift of hope. All wrapped up in a easy to read style that is absolutely necessary for the new patient. I gave this book out just over a week ago. If I don't have one I recommend - no insist that the person get this book and read it over and over and over. Thank you Greg Anderson for being a man who listened to his body and gave this wonderful book to us. Does this sound like I'm gushing - I am. If you are a cancer survivor - you know how difficult it is in your early days to get any kind of hopeful materials, how difficult it is to understand the medical language, how often a well-meaning friend wants to tell you a horror story. This book will erase all of that from your mind and give you some peace to face your health crisis. This should be handed out by every doctor and every hospital - and should be required reading for them as well as the patients. I hope it never goes out of print.
