From Library Journal
This book explains radiation therapy to cancer patients and their families. The introductory material provides a brief overview of cancer and how to choose a physician, medical center, and treatment methods. The author then offers a detailed description of the different types of radiation therapy, the equipment used, and the personnel involved. A brief glossary, a short bibliography of self-help material, and a list of comprehensive cancer centers in the United States complete the book. Everyone's Guide to Cancer Therapy by Malin Dollinger, M.D. et al. ( LJ 5/15/91) or the Cancer Sourcebook (Omnigraphics, 1990) are excellent reference sources with more complete information to supplement this book. Written in simple language, A Cancer Patient's Guide to Radiation Therapy is a good addition to patient education and consumer health collections.
