This review is from: AJCC Cancer Staging Handbook: For the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual (Paperback)
Written for biomedical students, this book is an excellent, well written textbook, covering general topics in oncology (epidemiology, pathology, surgery, radiation) and specific types of cancer. Some parts are too clinical for the general public, but if you are interested in the subject, this book is clear and useful. I highly recommend it to graduate students and public libraries.

This review is from: AJCC Cancer Staging Handbook: For the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual (Paperback)
For Anatomic Pathology Laboratories this book is the gold standard for communicating staging information. I would strongly urge Oncologists and Doctors treating oncology patients to reference this book for staging information, and to judge completeness of Pathology reports. It should be noted that the information is direct and to the point, without much supporting text. This should be considered as an up to date reference on the current thinking in terms of what is important in determining stage and prognosis. It is not an educational text that carefully or clearly defines the terms used by Doctors and Oncologists. |
