5.0 out of 5 stars A straightforward self-help guide, July 17, 2004
This review is from: Cancer's Best Medicine: A Self-Help and Wellness Guide (Paperback)
Cancer's Best Medicine: A Self-Help And Wellness Guide is a straightforward self-help guide to adopting eating habits that allow one's body to better resist cancer. Modern surgery and medicine can with some degree of success remove or kill cancer tumors, but what of the bodily environment that allowed those tumors to form in the first place? Cancer's Best Medicine claims that tumors are more likely to form when the body is too acidic and/or deficient in digestive and pancreatic enzymes, oxygen-starved, and receiving insufficient physical exercise. To counter this, Cancer's Best Medicine recommends diet and lifestyle changes that include drinking more water, learning how to breathe deeply, exercising regularly even if just walking, and avoiding acidic, low-enzyme foods such as cooked meat in favor of high-enzyme foods such as deep green leafy vegetables (which can be juiced) and whole foods. Cancer's Best Medicine is enthusiastically recommended as a supplementary resource for those seeking to treat or prevent cancer - it cannot take the place of medical supervision or treatment, but its positive message for taking charge of one's own health is not to be missed.
