5.0 out of 5 stars Great gft for new mothers
I love the Green and Blue Tooli's!!! I received them as a gift from my sister after the birth of my son. They come in very handy for that middle of the night feeding and diaper change. They are bright enough to see what you are doing, but do not alert my son to keep him awake after he eats. I also love their design and their easy recharge base.

2.0 out of 5 stars defective--and oxo would not honor warranty
I read the reviews here with the warnings about the batteries, but thought these lights were so cute and so perfect for late night feedings that I ordered them anyway. Bad choice. I followed the instructions exactly but from the very beginning the green lantern was faulty--wouldn't hold a charge at first, and then once it did charge it would shut itself off...

2.0 out of 5 stars defective--and oxo would not honor warranty, April 26, 2009

I read the reviews here with the warnings about the batteries, but thought these lights were so cute and so perfect for late night feedings that I ordered them anyway. Bad choice. I followed the instructions exactly but from the very beginning the green lantern was faulty--wouldn't hold a charge at first, and then once it did charge it would shut itself off automatically (the blue one charged nicely and stays lit so I know how they're supposed to work--the green definitely has something wrong with it, but I had no luck convincing Oxo of that fact). I contacted Oxo to ask for a replacement. In return I got an email with a Word document attachment that was vaguely insulting. It contained a preface obviously intended only for customer service reps that implies that customers are stupid. (Not sure why they sent this out to me). Their "troubleshooting" advice included such valuable tips as make sure the unit is plugged in, etc. I contacted them again asking for a new battery for the green lantern (since the vaguely hostile "troubleshooting" "manual" made it clear they would not replace an entire unit) and never heard from them again. I'm shipping it back to amazon tomorrow for a refund. I give the lanterns 2 stars instead of just 1 since they really are cute, and the light would be perfect for a nursery if the things worked properly. Maybe you'll be lucky. Other caveats: they're only 6 inches high and require a little bit more maintenance (regular draining/charging/draining of the battery) than a nightlight really should.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grandsons love these, February 23, 2008
This review is from: OXO Candela Orange and Fuchsia Tooli Rechargeable Lights, Set of 2 (Tools & Home Improvement)
Whenever our grandsons sleep over, at age 3 & 4, they love their OXO Candela night lights. They can safely handle these portable lights and they know the lights will come on whenever there is a power outage at our house. These are safe, practical night lights for children's rooms, and another great solution from OXO.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable -- but look for them at Marshalls!, September 11, 2009
I fell in love with these lights the second I saw them, but there was no way I was paying $50 for them. One lucky day, however, I found them at Marshalls (they had the orange and pink AND the blue and green versions) for $13. What a steal! They look adorable in our babies' pink and orange nursery.

They work better than I expected. When you take one off of the cradle, it lights up. You can push the button on the bottom to turn it off if you want. When we lost electricity in the house one night, they automatically lit up (since they were no longer being charged). They're pretty cool!

Before you buy these online, I'd go to your local Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Home Goods first.

We were so tired of the little cheap night lights and also worried about the safety of them. We bought night lights with cages around the light bulbs, but they would fall off and I didn't like having the bulbs down low where the kids play during the day.

We haven't had these Tooli's for long, but they were an immediate hit. Each kid has one and takes a Tooli to bed, it glows all night long, and then they have to return it to the charger in the morning. They are cool to touch, smooth, safe and so far unbreakable (not sure how many drops it can take... we might find out).

The light is bright, but not bright enough to wake them up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my kids, November 16, 2008
I bought these to use as portable night lights for my kids--to get them to the bathroom and back again. I was worried they would be too big or too bright, but found them to be a perfect size and brightness! My 5 year old twins love them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it, January 7, 2009

I would give this product a five star, but it is a bit brighter than I thought it was going to be. So bright if put in the wrong place it may keep you awake. Bright enough you can read by it.

Other than that . . .great! I did read some of the other reviews and I wonder if other owner's models did not keep a charge since the charging instructions were not followed?? Just a stab in the dark.

Very easy for my toddler son to carry and turn on. It is his job every morning to turn it off and put back onto the charger. I did think of getting for my parents next Christmas for when then get up at night.

Thank you for reading this review. Enjoy the day!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Product, March 25, 2010

My daughter is 5. Takes them to her nightstand at bedtime. Then replaces them to the charger every morning. They are perfect. Just the right amount of ambient light so that she is not afraid, but not enough to interrupt sleep. They are adorable shapes too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Nightlight, October 16, 2009

We love this product! It is perfect for lighting up a child's room, especially if your child is afraid of the dark. Normally we only need to use one and not both each night since one is bright enough. We've had this for about six months and have not experienced any problems with the lights or batteries not working yet.

It feels a little fragile, so I would caution that the child not view it as a toy to play with though..

Man these things are great for all you new moms and dads having to get up in the middle of the night and so tired - they're the best night lights - just pick them up off the base and they light up - and they stay lit all night - just set them wherever, much better than having to turn on the lights at night. Also great for when guests come you just hand them one for their night stand or whatever. They have an off switch on the bottom so that if you stay the night somewhere - take em with. I've decided I'm going to make this my standard gift at baby showers - they're great.
