Bought a 4-pack of the Bright Effects 021692 soft white bulbs at the end of July for use in a ceiling light fan kit's bowl.

Even with 3 bulbs installed, the amount of light is somewhat dim.

Then one of the bulbs started flickering on/off after a couple of weeks, and finally went out all together this week. There hadn't been probably more than 2 hours of use total since installing the bulbs.

I am going to try another brand of bulb and return these.

I bought these before they had any reviews up. They have been in use for a long time and none of them have burned out yet. They are used in my two bathrooms and see a fair amount of use. They are not on all the time, but they go through many on/off cycles per day. Each time it is an instant on to about 80% output. Within 45 seconds they are full power. I like these lights and I would buy again if needed.

Was looking for affordable candelabra base CFLs, ran across this comparatively cheap brand for sale on amazon for $10. A websearch for 'bright effects' took me to a long list of pages full of people complaining about the quality of the product (fire hazard, early burn-outs, etc).

Buyer beware.
