From Library Journal
This light, cozy, chatty biography of international film star Michael Caine is based on an award-winning British television special. The TV show featured comments from over 250 people who had a professional or personal connection with Caine. Their number was increased for the book and Gallagher makes truly excellent use of reminiscences from friends and coworkers. She includes thoughts from Caine's childhood sweetheart, as well as from Woody Allen and Roger Moore. But the strongest voice is Caine himself; his recollections and memories give the book its flavor and humor. This is far from the "warts and all" school of biography. While including his personal life, the main thrust of the book is Caine's career. There are surprisingly few books on Caine available, and this one is quite enjoyable. Recommended.
