The Candle-by the Hour is a nice source of mood lighting. It is easy to use, as the included instructions are clear, and beeswax is pliable. It is self-extinguishing, which increases safety, and the wax does not drip, as long as you make sure to straighten out the exposed section of candle. Plus, being a natural wax, beeswax is environmentally friendly. It burns cleanly and is a renewable resource. Finally, I love the "retro" look of the stand.

I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas, she loves it! She can't get over how long the sections last. I've seen this candle with an aluminum finish but I think the antiqued / bronzed finish looks much richer.

I bought this as a gift and was kind of disappointed when I received it. It feels and looks cheaply made. The packaging does not do much to discourage this notion either. I was expecting more quality for the price.

Have not used this candle yet but the instructions on the box, none inside, say only to pull out no more than 2 inches of wax strip, which would only amount to 40 minutes of burning time. Very disappointing as this was purchased for a gift and was led to believe one could burn it for an hour.

I ordered this candle as a gift for my mom.

It is a great table piece, with a copper stand, and real wax candle. The candle is entertaining to watch as it slowly melts down and eventually goes out.

I have no complaints about the candle at all--it has a sturdy base, it doesn't burn down quickly or oddly, and it has a strong flame. It's actually so nice to look at that my parents have stopped using it just so people can notice the candle...but that's not how it should be used anyway.

Either way, it's a great product, and it made my mom smile--and that's what counts.

I sent this to a daughter who loves candles (and she has bought a lot of unique candles). This one is so unique that she has never seen one like it. It was a big hit.

I bought two of these candles for friends of mine. The candle is quite lovely; I just wish the packaging were more sophisticated. If you plan to gift this item, I would suggest removing the manufacturer's packaging, purchase a plain white box, and wrap it in tissue to make a better impression.

I bought this as a surprise gift for my wife. She was surprised and she really likes it.

I'm not a fan of candles but I do enjoy surprising her with a gift of a candle and for you guys who are like me I highly recommend this candle.

I do not know yet if it will last 80 hours. If it does not I will delete this review and post a different one or I will post an update. So as they say on TV; Stay tuned to this channel.

I have to admit that I like the looks of it and the concept. If we have an extended power outage this will come in very handy. I will post an update on it's performance if that happens. I have also noticed that this unit is VERY STURDY. I know this because I have cats who like to pretend that they are very scared of our fairly new addition to our home which is a female longhaired minature Dachshund. This gives them the excuse to race around the house and knock things down. this unit has survived three falls with no problem. When we have it lit it will be in a spot that cannot be reached by them. I know that the cats are not scared of her because I have seen them attack a run off much bigger dogs who do not expect to be attacked by a cat. I think that the reason they have not done the same to the Dachshund is because they like her.

Enough about about cats and dogs. I like this candle and it think it will work very well. I recommend it to you guys who are stuck on what to give your wife,girlfriend,lady friend, or whatever for a gift. If it does not work out an update will be be posted or if it does not do at all like I think it will this review will be deleted and replaced with a negative one but I really ddo not think that will happen.

The candle part is great. It burns faster, a lot faster than they claim. But the coiled up candle is easy to mold & its fun. I put up 6 inches or more at a time and I have not had a problem. I can't believe anyone would follow the instructions to the letter and only put up 2 inches.

The stand part kinda sucks. It is extremely difficult to use the spring loaded clip part to secure the candle. You really have to mess with it for a few minutes and hurt your fingers to get it in there. I can understand why they designed it this way - with stupid folks in mind; stupid folks who would burn their house down if it were simple & easy to use. I really dont like the ache in my fingers and thumb from struggling with it.

If I could go back in time, I would buy the loops of candle and not the stand - Id buy just a "refill". The stand part ruins it.

This candle was purchased as a gift.What made this candle stand out, were the small bees pictured on it.I was very disappointed when I removed it from the box.
I am always satisfied with items I order from Amazon.com...except this time.
