This book does what it sets out to do, but I have found that there are better basic candle magick books out there. Both Ray Buckland and Patricia Telesco offer beginner books on the subject that cover the subject material in a smoother way. This title stresses planetary and other astrological correspondences to such a degree that one cannot practice the rituals without them. That's well and good, but I know many beginners and a number of advanced practitioners that do not put so much emphasis on the astrological aspects and still have very good results. If you are interested in that aspect of candle magic, however, this is the book for you--it's excellent in that regard.
