This book is for anyone thinking of joining a Coven, is a Solitary Practitioner of Magick, or is really serious about their Magick Work.

It is not a book of meaningless recipes where you have to trust that the author knows what they are doing and is not a rehash of light flowery vague information.

The book teaches Why and How Magick really works, and why it can fail. A Fabulous Book!

I have been looking for a book to teach my beginning students how to safely perform magick and spells, and this book is beyond words.

It is so rare to really find an author that knows what they are talking about and is willing to share their secrets with the world.

A friend, that belongs to a Bay Area Coven, had raved about the book and that it was exactly what I needed for my students.
He was right . . .

If you want to really understand how and why magick works, and want to customize your own spells . . . I highly recommend this book.

It is one of the rare books that deliver and all the covens that I know of in my area make this book required reading.

This is the best candle magick book I've read, and compared to at least one other, the most original. It does a fine job of covering basic theory of magick, visualization, aura and chakra cleansing procedures!, candle dressing and energizing!, oils, incense, time tables; this book is a DISCUSSION and one of the most important books I own. I can't wait for more of Kala & Ketz's works to become available. This is not just a candle magick book it is a MAGICK book. Thank you Kala and Ketz!

The candle magick workbook is the best source I've found for a guide to practical magic. It gives ethical guidelines, step by step instructions on spells from the very beginning to the very end, and a complete background information. Following thier guidelines, I've had nothing but sucess! A definate must read!!

This book showed me there was more to the subject of candle magick than the usual spell books that usualy show the reader a lot of "voodoo". This book covers everything from the history of candle burning to the proper setting and mood one should be in while engaging in candle magick. This book is a must read, weather or not the reader is looking for candle magick 'recipes' or an interesting new perspective at looking at life in general. This book is a very positive and insperational. I have found my self reading this book at times I was not even planing on lighting a candle.

This book is the best book on candle magick that one could own. I have read several and this one is my favorite. Easy to follow, lots of great information. It is the ONLY one I actually bought and I have NO desire to buy any others on this subject. Great book, great price, and you cant go wrong.

But please understand that candle magick is not for everyone. We all have our own skills and gifts and some people are better at other things..Like me, I just cannot skry! Its not something I have been able to do yet, however it does not mean I wont, some things just take longer to learn, so remember that when you are studying candle magick.

I am a High Prestess in Nebraska, a Heriditary Witch that fell in love with this book. It is required reading for every new Witch in my Coven. The book actually explains how and why candle magick works, or fails! I have seen my new Witches develop rapidly into responsible and competant Coven Members with positive attitudes and a confidence that no other book has given them.

Does anyone know when their new books will be out? I think it is wonderful that they allow unknown writers and budding artists a chance to place items in their books...

I was hoping for a grimoire of different spells, but this definatly doesn't cover all of that. It does however cover the basics of using candles as a part of magick, and also covers several other topics like Creative Visualization and other great things like that.

This book is VERY basic, even more basic than I expected. Much of it is blank space for notes, the chapters are 2-3 pages long, then a short quiz and a whole blank page for notes. So, as you can imagine, that is a lot of empty space in the book. I know it's a workbook, but I mean c'mon, really? The book is full of errors as well. The system for calculating planetary hours is just plain ol' wrong. There are several other things in it that are just incorrect as well. I bought it used for like 36 cents plus shipping. If I had paid more than that, I would have been pretty upset. The book claims to explain "why and how candle magick works". It does not. It just goes into a basic explanation of how fire harkens back to our primal selves and touches on very basic instincts for us, like security or safety from wild animals at night. There is not much more than that in the way of an explanation. It goes into a lot of things that don't really relate to candle magick, like chakras for example. It also goes into several discourses about karma and how magick should only be worked for good. I have no problem with that. But then, at the end of the book, they introduce quite a few practices that are black in nature. A few of them could be used for defense, when backed up against the wall and I say that's fine. But a couple of the techniques, I just saw no positive application for, so it seemed very contradictory. In short, don't pay more than $4 total for this. It is merely something to pad your library with.

I love this book and the Talisman Magic Workbook as well. This book helped me understand so much that I was confused about. It has a good blurb on the chakras and your aura and how it is tied in to manifestation. It also explains how to avoid depleting your own energy. This book is very different from a lot of the other books on magic I have read. The spells are not written out for you, but after working through the book you know how to write your own candle spells. It gets down to basics and ensures that you have an understanding of what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how to utilize it.

If you are looking for someone to hold your hand, tell you where to stand, what to recite and give you a bunch of spells that mean nothing to you personally, then don't bother with this book.

If you want a book that gives you all the info and then allows you to personalize it, then I recommend this book. It is an invaluable resource that I go back to again and again.
My only complaint is that the authors only wrote two books.

I found the book enlightening and that it covered all the basics that anyone would need as a Solitary Practitioner of Magick, Ritual and Wicca.

I for one, am glad this author did not droll on with a Grimore of Receipee for Magick and Spells. Why? Because anyone serious about Spells and Magick should learn to create their own spells and understand what makes Magick really work. Anyone following a Grimore of Spells is only cheating themselves and stunting their own growth.

This book has taught me how to create my own customized spells, why Magick works and empowers me with confidence.

Since I first read the book in 2000, my abilities and knowledge have grown three fold.

I would love more books by the Author...does anyone know if they created any more!
