About the Author
Alison Inches is the author of In the Kitchen with Miss Piggy, as well as more than thirty children's books, including the best-selling Go to Bed, Fred. A full-time writer and former book editor, she resides with her husband, Ric McKown, in Mountain View, California. Ric McKown is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy with a certificate in pastry and baking. He works for a high-tech company in Silicon Valley and is the owner of Countrymade, a bakery based in Mountain View, California.

It's truly yummy! (and it's not about making candy bars),

This small book is a mix of charm, history, delicious photographs and just plain fun. I went to one of the book signings where samples of many of the recipes were there for the tasting. It was easy to tell that a high standard had to be met before any of the creations could be accepted into the cookbook. But it was not at all easy to tell what candy a recipe used! A complete surprise of gourmet tasting delights. One certainly doesn't need a family to fully enjoy it. I think it is an easy present for friends. It's definitely a neat slant on the usual cookbook.

If you love America's most well-known and loved candy (and who doesn't?!), then you'll enjoy making these to-die-for desserts for your family and friends! The time-line of candy brand names in the front of the book is a nice walk down memory lane - remembering all of your childhood favorites. Be sure to make up a batch of "Brownies with Reese's Bites and Chocolate Glaze" - a sure crowd pleaser - and have that glass of milk on hand when you devour this taste of HEAVEN!

Many of the recipes are easy to make which is perfect for people like me who hate baking. The book would make a perfect gift.
