A better title would be "Candy and the Amazons"., April 4, 2001
This review is from: Candy in Captivity (Nexus Classics) (Paperback)
This is my first attempt at one of these reviews so please indulge me. I used to buy books like this at adult book stores but I haven't for about ten years. I recently bought about a half dozen or so of the more interesting looking bondage type books from Amazon based upon these reviews, as well as the titles, and picture of the cover. Candy, our heroine, is a bright, young, ambitious yuppie type from the City, the financial district of London, who visits a remote Scottish island to close a real estate deal. She visits the wrong castle and discovers a cult of lesbians, a sort of feminist academy for young ladies, which strives to prepare them to assume what they consider to be their proper role as the rulers of the outside society. Since she has missed her boat back to the mainland, Candy is, of course, invited to stay with them until the next boat. Of course, she is expected to follow the rules and protocals of the cult. Naturally, she soon discovers that this is her kind of life and that these are her kind of women. I found this book to be interesting because it spends alot of time describing how lesbians view other women, what they find attractive, and how they feel about domination and submission with other women. As a male hetero, I can tell you that they think differently than I do. The action includes skimpy uniforms with never any underwear, various spankings and punishments, nude exercise classes, attraction to and romances with peers, as well as with older, authority type women, and rivalries with other women. At any given time one of the girls is assigned to be the community maid, nude except for a full body apron, she is expected to perform the household duties and serve the others, domestically and sexually. I bought this book because of the great title and cover picture, however, they are misleading. Candy is never in captivity in the sense of being captured by white slavers, and no one ever wears a maid's uniform like the one depicted. This book is not great but pretty good so I gave it three stars. Thank you.
