This album is absolutely fantastic. It's a live recording of songs such as the classic "Lily was here", performed together with Dave Stewart. The Sax solo sent chills through my spine. This song was great when it was released in it's studio recording but is even better played live. Dave Stewart also performs on Synchrodestiny, a brand new song. Also on the CD is the Isley Brothers'song "For the love of you" on which Angie Stone does the vocals. "Pick up the pieces" is a great classic, which is also perfectly suited for a live recording such as this. It's really cheerfull and makes it hard to stand still when you hear it. To finish the recording Candy is joined by her father Hans Dulfer to perform "Dance 'till you Bop". A great CD which you should play really loud so you feel like the concert's live in your living room.

The CD captures Candy Dulfer at her best. This is a must for anyone who enjoys Candy's style of jazz!

I had waited years to see Candy live, then last year had 2 different opportunities.
She is a master sax player with a degree in Funk.
The solo with the drummer will make you dance.

Since sometime ago I have been checking all the musicians that joins Prince from time to time or usually play with him, such as Rhonda Smith, RAD and of course Candy Dulfer. None of them disappointed me and specially not Candy Dulfer. She is an excellent musician and this live performance is an excellent proof of that, moreover she is clearly an experienced artist meaning by that the profesionalism and joyfulness of her live music performance. I totally recommend "Live in Amsterdam" for people that are cheking out Candy Dulfer for the first time, like me, or for any Jazz lover that can appreciate a really gifted and talented musician at work.

I have seen Ms. Dulfer perform in person and I am here to tell ya, this is by far one of the best representations of a live performance I have ever heard! This album should be listed as a must have for jazz lovers. I wish there was a DVD available for this show!

I usually change cd's in my cars about once a week. I have had this cd in one or the other for 2 months and I am still not tired of it! Every track seems to grow on you even if you are hearing the song for the first time! My kids (4 and 10) even find themselves singing along with portions of the album.

Do not hesitate! Even if you only barely like jazz, this is a no-brainer! Order it!

If you are looking for a cd that is fun and makes you want to get up and dance than look no further. Candy Dulfer live in Amsterdam makes you feel like you are there in person. For a live concert the quality of the recording is excellent.
