I enjoyed playing Candyland as a child. Now, it's my turn to share Candyland with my kids. This anniverary version of Candyland is fantastic! The game pieces are made a bit more ruggedly than before, plus it comes with a terrifi tin to store the game in. In addition, Amazon has it listed for a terrific price, about $5 less than I paid for the game at a "regular" store.

I bought this game for my toddler because I thought it would be nice for her to have the tin box, which is beautiful and very helpful since it has molded spaces for the parts inside. The playing pieces are great, and they're not flat. Very sturdy too. The big problem with this edition of Candyland is that after they went through all the trouble of making the greta box, board, playing pieces, they added a cardboard castle that needs to be assembled each time you play (at leats my daughter MAKES me put it together, I'd play without it!). The cardboard is thin and starts to wear immediately after the first time you assemble it, not to mention how awful it gets after many uses. Get the kid the game, but throw away the castle before you give it to him/her.

Great game, but why make the beautiful castle out of paper and too big for the box!!! We can not even store it with the game and games for 3 year olds should be durable. Very disappointing. The gingerbread men are adorable. Of course the game is a classic. Change the castle! Thanks!

Isn't it amazing to think this childhood classic has been around for 50 years? And it's still thrilling the youngsters! The game has always been great for children, which is why it's done so well for so many years. It's easy to play, quite fun and engaging. Simple colors help you move, and the game isn't very challenging. The new collector's version comes with a tin for storage and beautiful graphics and pieces. Yes, the cardboard castle at the end is a little cheezy, but heck, if it falls apart, you throw it away. The rest of the game is beautiful enough that you won't even notice. Definitely a great game for any child, or any child at heart!

My 4 year old loves this!,

We got this edition of Candy Land for our little boy and he just loves it! The tin, gameboard, and playing pieces are very beautiful. The tin also serves the dual purpose of being a nice organizer for the game. Because of the tin's dimensions it is also a great game to take to grandma's because it fits easily in a back pack. While the educational value of this game is small academically, it is very high in terms of helping a child learn to take turns, follow directions, and understand the gaming/rules concept. My only complaint about this game is that the castle that comes with it is paper and kind of cheesy. I would still buy this game again.

I bought this for my 15 year old daughter, who has never forgiven me for selling her original one at a yard sale! She loves it! The tin is beautiful, a definite collector's item.

I really love this game even though I've never played the 50th anniversary before. I've played Candyland before (not the 50th anniversary one) back in Tyler, Texas in a plasma donation center with my sister and several other kids. It helps children who can't read, especially deaf children. Besides 3 to 6-year-old children, youths and adults can play it, too. Why they can even play it alone. This is the best game in the spotlight. I want to see (and play) the 50th anniversary one. I want to see what it looks like. Thanks!
