4.0 out of 5 stars Get it and keep it in the car, January 17, 2010

I was really surprised that the quality of the game was so much lower than travel Sorry, but the game board is really cute, the gingerbread pieces are plastic and really cute, and the game board looks like a little hardcover book, snaps shut tightly and is easy to toss in a bag or the car to keep for, well, anything.

The spinning dial is SO much better for kids than cards--they should build them into all of the games. More fun, less messy, doesn't get crumpled or lost, and makes so much noise and is fun to spin! Another bonus: it seems like there is one of every "card" (one single yellow, one double yellow, one gumdrop, etc.) so it seems that your odds of getting any particular card, particularly the "candy" cards is greatly increased. We played one game tonight and though the board is so teeny, I think the game went on and on for about 15 minutes because we kept jumping backwards and forwards from one candy feature to another. This greatly pleased my child, who was extremely bored by the "real" candy land.

Like I said about the board quality--the actual board, pieces, snaps, etc. are all very durable, but the spinning area is very cheap; you have to lift up and twirl to get a decent spin, which I wouldn't be bugged by if I didn't have travel Sorry. The spinner on Sorry is fast and really spins, this one just kind of clicks around until you get the mechanism. Still, a heck of a great time and we are going to be playing this often.

Game was great for a traveling 3 year old Candy Land addict. He actually will choose to play it at home as well. The little people have trouble sticking to the board but that is to be expected.

I am glad I purchased this game. I keep it in the car. My kindergarten friends like it, but they do have some trouble getting the game pieces into the pegs. Maybe as the game gets some wear, the pegs will be easier. The game lists two to four players, but only came with two game pieces. Hmm. I would say that would only be a two player game. All in all, I've been happy with this purchase.
