I wanted the candyland rug for my son's 1st birthday party. I found the rug on amazon.com, ordered it and received a brand new rug within 3 days. I am excited about my purchase and will definitely order from amazon.com again. Thanks

I hadn't played Candyland in a long time but was excited about the large playing rug and big pieces for my 3 year old. I think there is educational value in the counting and color recognition etc (as with the original board game). My complaint is that it's not the same as the board game- I seem to think that there were some cards/spaces like a candy cane or something else where you would go to that spot on the board (whether it is in front of you or behind you) if you drew those cards. This 'board' just has the color spaces, which is probably better for younger children, but makes it more fun for maybe 5 and up's if there is that extra challenge there. I think this is a great game for 2-5 year olds and those just learning the game but it will be fun to get the original board game for when this game becomes boring due to the lack of the challenging spaces/cards etc..For now, she loves it, though.

The large jumbo size of this game makes it easier for children as young as a precocious 18 months, able to play. I just got it for Christmas, so we will see how well it weathers use. Enjoyed the prompt shipping time.
