XXXPLOSIVE!,
This review is from: Candy Licker: An Urban Erotic Tale (Paperback)
Sexy Candy Raye Montana has always dreamed of having a singing career. Candy and her friends Dominica and Vonzelle form the group Scandalous! and get signed to shady music producer Junius "Hurricane" Jackson's number one urban label The House of Homicide. The girls are well on their way to becoming the next TLC or Destiny's Child but how much are they willing to pay for superstar status? Dominica is a true friend to Candy but becomes increasingly suspicious when Vonzelle becomes distant. Candy knows that Hurricane (a.k.a. Cane) is a talented producer but when she becomes his wifey she finds out just how sadistic and possessive he is. To top things off, Cane is a complete disaster in the bedroom. Candy finds herself feeling scared and sexually frustrated. She has to decide just how much of herself she is willing to give up for fame and fortune. Candy better make the right choice because the wrong one could turn deadly. Knowledge is Cane's personal attorney and business manager, but he has his own plans to get out of the game. One of those plans includes getting a taste of Candy. Will Candy see what Knowledge has to offer?
Candy Licker is an extraordinary novel by Noire. Noire skillfully mixes gritty, in-your-face urban drama with a healthy dose of raw sexuality. I really loved the shady music business storyline. The scenes are so descriptive that you'll feel like you're signed to The House of Homicide. Candy Licker gives you a voyeuristic view into the music industry. Noire created characters that are raw and real. She pulled no punches with this story. Be it graphic sex or violence, Noire took both of those aspects to the extreme. This story is not a fairytale and not for the faint of heart. Candy Licker is gripping, action-packed, and entertaining. Candy Licker proves that Noire is a force to be reckoned within the urban erotic genre.

Candy of a Different Flava.,
By
This review is from: Candy Licker: An Urban Erotic Tale (Paperback)
In the New York underworld of rap stars and hip hop moguls lies a great infestation of greed, deviance and death. All of this is found in Noire's second installment in urban erotic tales, Candy Licker.
Candy Raye Montana is a young woman who has experienced more life in her nineteen years then some have in their sixties. Candy gets the opportunity to showcase her singing talents when she and her girls are signed with Junius "Hurricane" Jackson. Jackson, CEO of the House of Homicide recording studios, takes their career and puts them on the fast track to success but it does not come without a price. Candy finds herself as Hurricane's "wife" which to everyone else is a privilege but to her a nightmare. She is forced to endure his sadistic desires and sexual secrets. Candy, being a woman with a healthy sexual appetite, begins looking for sexual satisfaction and finds it in Hurricane's lawyer, Knowledge. While their relationship is fulfilling, they have to watch their backs because if Hurricane finds out the consequences will be lethal. Having read both G-Spot and Candy Licker, this reader believes, consciously or sub-consciously Noire has a lot of parallels. The young beautiful girl caught up with the dollar signs, sadistic relationship with older men and the "hero" that saves our heroine, having a significant tie to her tormentor. What this reader sees is the development of a formula. This is not a bad thing but I worry that this kind of work will become predictable and boring. Also the classification of erotica some might find misleading. While there are some descriptions that are hot and sexy, they are overshadowed by perverse fetishism. With that said, I did enjoy the vivid descriptions of the scenes in the club. I could see every booty pop, and every rapper rock the microphone. I appreciated the insertion of rap lyrics and I was also impressed with the no-holds barred portrayal of the seedy side of the rap industry. Noire is a truly talented writer with a genuine gift of storytelling. I appreciated this gift having read both of her books. If you are a fan of the urban erotic genre and enjoyed G-Spot I believe that you will enjoy Candy Licker. Kotanya APOOO BookClub

This review is from: Candy Licker: An Urban Erotic Tale (Paperback)
Oh my goodness!! Damn this book was so good!! Noire out did her self on this one. This is the first book I've read this new year and all I can say is it's already one of the best! It is gonnna take one helluva book to make me change my mind. I was so into this story that I could feel Candy's pain. I wanted to jump into the book and put a bullet in Hurricane's skull. He was a dirty, low-down psycho bastard! Candy suffered so much pain mentally and physically, from the beatings and humiliations and the deaths of her Mama, Caramel, Vonnie and Dom. I'm glad Knowledge was around,( we all need a candy licker like him) he saved Candy's life. This story will hook you from the first page, it's that good. I CAN NOT wait until Noire's next novel!

NOT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
This review is from: Candy Licker: An Urban Erotic Tale (Paperback)
Noire, Noire, Noire......you have done it yet again! This book is definitly not for the faint at heart. Noire has the ability to make her readers cringe at the mere thought of some of the grittiest scenes that she creates, blush at the steamy scenes, and long for a man like Knowledge to be by our side! The overall plot is very similar to G-Spot, however the story was nothing like her previous novel. Rarely have I closed a book and thought to my self' "what was going through that author's head", but your imagination and writing skill has lead me to believe that you are in a class of your own! My only critique is that it seemed to move fast, but that could have just been me because I wanted more, more, more. Hats off girl. Keep on doing what you do!

Well, what can I say Noire you had my heart from the start with Gino in G-Spot now Knowledge, what is a woman to do...
This book had me hooked from the first page to the very last, which was completed in less than a day. You had a girl calling off of work to read this. Very, very intense yet erotic all in one. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to your future works....Know that you have a fan for life. Ladies, if you want your husband to share in the experience of the feeling that you get while reading one of Noire's books try reading an excerpt and bring that feeling to reality.....Enjoy!

Candy Licker was a much anticipated book by me. Noire is a talented author who has the ability to spin an erotic tale. She does the damn thing in G Spot and here if I had not read G Spot, I probably would have rated this book a little higher. However, this book was very much similiar to G Spot so much so that the book became predictable. It had the same plot as G Spot,. I am not hating on the author but for me as a reader, I can't condone a repeat. I wonder why did she write the same story. I am compelled to ask that of the editor. Why would they let her do a replica of her first story. And the story was a bit concerning, considerating some actions of the characters. Some parts of the story were left unanswered and never revisited again in the story. I loved GSpot but this book will leave you a little concern, like did I like it or didn't I.
Yes, I would read another book by Noire, but with the hopes that the plot is different. Remember I am rating the book and not her writing ability.

G-Spot Retitled?,
By
This review is from: Candy Licker: An Urban Erotic Tale (Paperback)
I was really looking forward to reading Candy Licker because I thought that G-Spot was an excellent book. While reading Candy Licker I felt as if I were reading G-Spot all over again. The storyline and characters were so similar that it made the book very predictable and almost boring. The erotic scenes were ok but after reading both of Noires books I keep asking myself, what does he/she have with creating stories with such horrible violence towards women?

this is not urban erotica,
By
This review is from: Candy Licker: An Urban Erotic Tale (Paperback)
Like others have said this book is very much similar to G Spot where the main character Candy is stuck in an abusive relationship. This is not urban erotica there is nothing sexy or sweet about the sex scences in the book they are plain old nasty (with the exception of the parts with knowledge and candy). The story kept me hooked and I finished the book in one day, but I really found it very disturbing for the most part. Now I wasn't expecting a sugar coated story, but you kinda get to the point where enough is enough. Even though the story was a bit much it kept your attention. I think Noire can write pretty decent, but I don't think she's worth all the hype. If you want urban erotica read a Zane book if you want sadistic ready Candy Licker.
