5.0 out of 5 stars A real dandy, candy song!
What a wonderfully cheeky little song! I caught it on MTV the other night and I just loved it. It's catchy, its toe tapping, it's fun, it is also very rude, I mean I just like the lines "...makes the [...] drop" and "...makes my cherry pop" need I say more?

The video is great too, with Christina taking most of the female lead roles from the Cigarette...

The video is great too, with Christina taking most of the female lead roles from the Cigarette girls, to the dancing singing female soldiers, to the bobby soxers, you name it, Christina is doing it in this video!

A great song that really brings to life the 1940s in both song and show.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funnest song in a long time---, April 1, 2007
This review is from: Candyman (Audio CD)
Candyman has raised my expectation bar when it came to Christina Aguilera. I mean, with songs such as "Dirrty" and "Come on Over", I thought that she couldn't release anything that could far exceed her boundaries of a pop artist. Well, she proved me wrong, and maybe a few others, with this infectious horn driven, 1940's, song "Candyman". I'm glad for once there is a music artist out there who finds no need (anymore, at least) to include rapper in every single, or a song that repeats a phrase over and over and over and over again.

Candyman is the most fun song I have heard in a long time, and I hope it does extremely well in today's mainstream radio. Kudos to Aguilera for taking such risks, and succeeding with them.

What a great song! The video is amazing and her voice is top-notch. I love this woman. This single is catchy, infectious and the lyrics are so tongue and cheek! Go out and buy Back to Basics! There's more where this came from!

1.0 out of 5 stars eh...., November 29, 2008

I didn't buy it and here's why---I love the style, I love the sass, even the video is cute. But the only thing about this song that disappoints me is the poor judgment in lyric. Frankly, I don't want to hear someone sing about what makes her cherry pop, what makes her panties drop, and the phallic innuendo covered up by an "ahhh." Too bad too, 'cuz it's a catchy tune. And I am a Christina fan. Would have liked and would have bought a cleaned-up version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Voice Candy, April 3, 2007
This review is from: Candyman (Audio CD)
These days, I really think that music has to come straight from the heart, and constantly re-introduced from the past so people now could experience something fresh and exciting. I was very surprised with Christina Aguilera experimenting with the style of music of the past on her latest single, Candyman, the third single from her third record Back To Basics. The song really does a good job reflecting the boogie woogie styles of the 1940's. The song is very upbeat and captures her voice beautifully. I am really impressed with how her voice in shown in this song. It is definitely her best song ever, and one of the best songs released so far this year.

Song: B+
