Excellent, excellent, excellent,

Every aspect of this album is wonderfully done. Talented lead singer, catchy, pervasive songs, -killer- lyrics, and an incredibly cohesive presentation. Not a single track feels out of place. Tons of fun. I highly recommend it!

This has got to be one of the greatest things to happen , not just in music, but ever! Yeah maybe I took that a little too far , but this band is just great. Miss. Jenio stands out as most people would agree but the catchy fun (corny?) music is what puts it together. There is not a single track I skip through while listening and that's saying a lot. Seems in most reviews the people are just glowing at the mention of the name, and I can't blame them. It's intoxicating, it's the single most enjoyable album I've heard in a while now. Be warned though, once you hear these songs they will remain in your head until the day you die, not that's such a bad thing. That's about all I have...thumbs up, with a big stupid smile.

Lisa Jenio is a pop music genius,

There is too little Lisa Jenio music in the world. She was a driving force in The Stool Pigeons (two great albums of "British Inversion" covers) but makes a brilliant leap here as a songwriter as well as a singer. Her lyrics are not just clever, they have a stealth quality with an insidious humor and a cutting satirical edge that you can miss under the bouncy melodies. The music is infectious but also a brilliant counterpoint to the lyrics, which can be silly, sardonic or just plain savage. "Fake It" has the sound of a love ballad but the words are the exasperated yearnings of a girl who just wants a little nooky. "Cherry Picker" calls out a middle-aged man for trying to deny his age by dating a succession of younger women. And "Monkey Boy" is a simply infectious song about a boy afraid to commit and a girl persistent enough to make him choose, with a "Me Tarzan, You Jane" sensibility to the lyric.
Please, please, please, Lisa Jenio, record more music. PS: Candypants recorded one other hilariously funny song that I know of: "Nerdy Boys," featuring on "Alright, This Time Just the Girls Vol. 2," which is a great collection.

Great, just great,

After listening to this album, I have definetly concluded that Lisa Jenio has got to have one of the best singing voices in power pop today. I first heard of her in The Negro Problem's "Joys and Concerns" as a background artist, but she definetly comes through as her own musician in this album. This is definetly one you must have if you're a Wondermints fan.

This is one of the best indie releases I've heard in years. I look forward to much more music and even a major label record soon. The musicianship is excellent and the girl who sings is outstanding. If you don't have this get it now!

The lyrics are right on the money & revelant to the times. They're catchy and easy to listen to. Get's your blood to boiling in some tracks. Watch out! The songs sometimes sound sweet but they pack a wallop.

Lyric picture of our sexual times,

WOW! The lyrics blew me away. The sweet baby-voice of the lead singer gave credence to the material. If you can't read between the lines of the tracks to discern the sexual meanings, please try again. They're right on the money!

This is definitely on my list of top records of the year. Huge melodies that compliments the seemingly-sweet-but-delightfully-ironic-sardonic lyrics wonderfully. Great playing. Lisa Jenio's voice is a rare and welcome change to the generic Lillith-whine-fests or fake-70s-rock-retreads that have dominated female vocalists these days. Funny, literate, and brillantly executed. Underated to the hilt!

DEBUT OF THE YEAR!!!!!!,

I buy tons of CDs and LPs and such, and this is the first record in a long time that has made me sit back, take a good hard listen, and just grin with the pleasure of finding something genuinely new and great. Buy it, buy it, buy it. Nifty, melodic, poppy surfaces yield to a darker lyrical undercurrent. Playfully sinister, wrapped in hi-gloss pop'n'roll. Don't miss it. . .

This CD is definetly one of my favorites and I'm not saying that because my cousin is in the band. The youthful, upbeat music will brighten your day. This is a must-buy CD.
