These worked well with my V-brakes but I found the hood to be uncomfortable. It was too narrow and angular for me and the raised little salamander figures were quite annoying. Felt like my fingertips were always on a seam. Took some sandpaper and smoothed them down. I changed to Tektro R340s, which I found to be much more comfortable riding, but had to use Travel Agents in order for them to be compatible with my V-brakes. The action was not nearly as smooth and the brakes did not perform as well as using the CC Drop V levers. So, if you can tolerate the shape of the hood and the bumpy hood surface go with these over having to use Travel Agents with a normal pull road lever.

Solves the problem of mechanical disc brakes with drop bars perfectly. I use these levers with Avid BB7's and they work beautifully. Really decent quality for the price, nice to see...

-- I bought these levers to use on a cyclocrosser with v-brakes and drop bar. I have another set of stndard Cane Creek levers on my road bike which are excellent.I ex pected more of the same here but with more cable pull but I find this is a unique
product. Cane Creek must assume that crossbike owners spend more time on the hoods,
because the levers are wider and shaped for a better grip and are flared outward a
few degrees (apparent if you look at the bike from in front). The result with v-
brakes is excellent stopping power and, especially, modulation. They are very well
suited to people with small hands. I alternate this bike with a road bike with Dura
Ace calipers and, trust me, these levers w/ Avid v's win hands down. Great, well-
thought out product. Very good-looking in black, too.

We recently had our tandem repainted after 19 years of ownership. When reassembling the bike, I decided to replace the levers, only because the old ones were scuffed up. Additionally the old levers required a klugy addition to make them adaptable to "V" brakes.

I do like the feel of the Cane Creek brake levers.

I replaced my old levers with the Cane Creek Drop V levers because they have an excellent quick release built into the lever that makes removing the tires on my touring bike much easier. This is important because I switched to nitrogen last year and I don't like to deflate the tires in order to remove them.

Anatomically, the levers are excellent. They have a larger hand rest area and I can reach the levers easily from either the top or from the drops. I have not had any problems with these levers and the Avid Short cantilever brakes I'm using. They are well made and the finish is excellent. The price was right too.

UPDATE: This year, I converted one of my bikes to carbon fiber wheels. They have some very nice features but one problem that I found is that they are not as true as a spoked wheel. With standard road levers, keeping the road brake pads off the rim was very difficult and these levers provide more than enough clearance. Of course, there's no free ride and so these levers reduce the braking power available somewhat but the loss is acceptable.

Cane Creek states that these levers are " . . . not designed for side-pull, center-pull or cantilever brake levers. While a very small amount of braking force will be lost, in my experience it is not significant. I am using these levers on all my bikes. Three bikes have Dura-Ace calipers and one has the Avid Shorty cantilever brakes I discussed above. All work fine with these levers.

WOW! I started to upgrade my trekking bike to become more road-like! However, V-breaks, could not be supported by regular road levers:/
Cane Creek was the solution!!! Work perfectly, great grip, great idea of adjusting cable length by pushing a slide bar, no need to remove breaks before removing the wheel etc.
I do recommend everyone!!:)
