5.0 out of 5 stars Solid set of aero brake levers, May 30, 2010
As a background of how I was using these levers, I was building up a vintage Trek touring bike with downtube shifters and cantilever brakes. Therefore, a pair of modern STI shifters were out of the question without changing out the entire drivetrain. Originally, I had some generic non-aero brake levers, and the reach on them was awkward from the top of the drops. These cane creek levers look and feel similar to the shape of newer shimano brifters. Ergonomically, they feel pretty good, but have a little farther out in the drops than the shimano levers I'm used to. Another nice feature is the quick release button, reminiscent of old campy brake levers. For cantilever brakes, this is a godsend, as there is no such quick release on the brakes themselves, and can often be difficult loosen to change wheels.

I love these brake levers. They almost feel like an appointment for the dashboard of my car. The two-tone materials with the polished lever looks fantastic. Little geckos create a texture on the hood. I use them on my touring bike, matched with Nitto noodlebars and Brooks leather tape and have zero issues.

These brake levers feel good, look good, and best of all they work good. They come with good instructions on how to change them out with you're old brakes. They only downside is their cost, and even that isn't so bad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cane Creek brake levers, November 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I replaced worn out non-aero levers on a mid-1980s touring bike with these. The Cane Creek levers have a nice appearance, are wide and comfortable, and work very well. I can stop again! I particularly enjoy the button-controlled quick release to open the brakes to remove a wheel. The chassis is plastic under the gum rubber, but seems durable. If you are upgrading an old bike like I did, be aware that the reach and hence your riding position will change because the new style levers are physically much larger than the old style non-aero levers (mine were Suntour Superbe Pro, circa 1985).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant grip and performance, June 12, 2010

It is awesome to finally be able to halt my bike when I need to. Replaced my old brakes and brake levers with these levers, and a pair of Tektro side-pull dual-pivot calipers. I originally bought levers at a local shop, but they sold me overpriced Tektros for double the price, and they were two right sided levers! I kept going back to try to get a left but they told me they didn't have any. Snobby buggers. Finally got what I wanted online for better levers at a better price.

Well built, easy on the hands. They were definitely worth putting on my singlespeed.
