I've suffered with canker sore for years. I've learned some of my triggers, such as sodium lauryl sulfate (I switched to JASON or SLS-free Tom's of Maine toothpastes) and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) makes them much worse.

I've tried pretty much all of the over the counter treatments. Some of the other products help with the pain, but this is the only one I have found which TRULY shortens the course of the canker sores.

Sometimes they are painful on application, if the sore has progressed too far, but the pain goes away pretty quickly, and soon becomes much less than it was before applying the disc. This isn't a problem if I catch the sore early. No matter how bad the sore, and I had some almost as big as the disc, they are either completely gone or nearly so within three days, without fail.

I can't recommend Cankermelts enough. Please try them, as I'm sure you will be impressed. I also want everyone to know about these, so that they don't end up going off the market. I don't want to live without these little things!

These Cankermelts are amazing. I only used 2 or 3 of them before my canker sore wasn't painful anymore. Sometimes they slip off of the area they're covering, but you can stick them back on or start with a new one if it's mostly dissolved. The taste is very mild and non-offensive. I bought them once when I was on vacation a few years ago and loved them. This time I ordered them here and they worked just as well. I can't find them locally, so I'm glad Amazon carries them.

I have used the Cankermelts with great success for years, but it appears that this vendor has changed the version they sell. I do not care for the new version, missing the licorice derivative. Sent them back (different box will clue you - doesn't match the picture online.) Can still be a great product, but I prefer the other dark blue box.

I have had a few chancre sores over the last few months and this product did a fairly good job at helping reduce some of the pain I had with the sores. I started using Vitamin B-12 to help and I think the combination of the two can do a lot of help.

I put the disc in my mouth right after I bite the inside of my lip. The Cankermelt irritated the area and it developed into a huge painful canker sore!!! So, no I would not recommend this product.
