Very good composer and the works are well done! Pleasantly surprised at the number of enjoyable pieces. Great listening if you like Classical composers who don't put too much of their own emotion into their compositions. Follows standard classical era movements.

Recently I listen the so-called early music, from renaissance period to baroque period music, I find even on instrument change, or composition content, it would be gradually growing and deleloping to more abundance for me. So when I listen Cannabich, it's easy to me understand what classical period music it was, and why it looks like it.
If you ever listenned the germanic court music, ex Biber,Bach. And pick up classical period music, Hayden, Mozart to compare. You would understand the picture of Connabich, and find his intermedia role.

Besides, Naxos again offer a cheaper but valuable CD to us, I recommand it to all

Usually with music I have something to complain about, the sound quality, the performance, the composition, ect.. I'm a picky listener. I can't find anything wrong with this. The performance is really good, nothing about it annoys me, played at just the right pace and mistakes are at a minimum. The sound quality is excellent, what you should expect from a modern recording. It was recorded in 1996. The music itself is very lively, there's never a boring moment, yet it's still beautiful at times.
